I would love to see that washer do the drying cycle as well as the wash cycle.

I really liked the look of the whirlpool versions of these! Would love to have one, one day!

I've recently bought a Hisense Inverter. The variable frequency drive brushless motor is driven by electronic circuitry integrated into the motor itself. It's lovely and quiet, and no carbon dust! But, will it last 19 years, like my 2005 Candy with noisy and dirty universal motor? Probably not? Is this machine's motor driven by VFD? Or, is it just a regular induction motor? It's interesting, because universal motors have a characteristic whine, which changes frequency according to speed. VFD motors also have a whine, but it's quieter than universal. The VFD motor stator coils resonate according to the frequency they're driven at.

Neither VFD nor Induction. The motor type your machine has is a brushless DC (BLDC) motor, aka a PMSM (3-phase synchronous permanent magnet) motor. Each phase is commutated by pulsed DC (typically a square, sine or tri wave signal) which is emulating a 3-phase AC signal, with varying frequency. That's why it's called an inverter. It creates a virtual 3-phase AC signal using DC at varying voltages and frequencies to control its speed. I have previously owned a Fisher and Paykel QuickSmart MW512, which used the same motor technology. That machine lasted me about 17 years, although sadly died a few years back.
