Hell most of the moves for the three girls were reuses of other attacks but that's the thing, a mod which should've been made to look jank by comparison is outdoing the new $70 release for modern hardware.

Someone pointed this out a while ago but Sparking Zero going back to characters only having for four supers (technically only two if you count Blast 2s as the actual moves) really seems to hurt Super characters the most. Kelfa, Kale, and a lot of other characters from Super have lots of material to choose from to make moves out of but the devs could only choose two because of how the system works. That usually leaves the ultimate to try and pick up the pieces but that doesn't always work out.

No idea why they skipped SSJ Caulifla. If they didn't want to have both forms, then the logical thing to do is give her SSJ, and have her temp transforming into SSJ2 for the Ult, not have her skip a whole form. They didn't need 3 Kelfas. Again, temp transformations. Some of her other moves could be given to Base so SSJ could have the green energy volley, the spinning energy punch, and follow in FighterZ footsteps and combine her SEW, Gigantic Claw, and the twin laser into one move where she dons SSJ2. Also, I don't remember the exact scene, but I'm pretty sure she started that sequence in the anime with a big burst of energy, and was even sending out bolts of it later on.

As much as I love SS2 Kefla's rush being what it is, I can't help but feel it could've been done better. Have the animation START with her winding up the blast and charge forward with it in her hand. If the rush connects, you have the opportunity to have some more feedback against the opponent along with maybe pulling more from that really great expression she had in the anime right before it would've hit. If you miss, the beam fires off. Kid Gohan has something sort of like it in Raging Blast, the attack he did to blow up the mountain Piccolo threw him at. He charges forward, and launches the beam that vaporized the mountain. However, that move was pretty terrible in gameplay since he has to stop and shoot the beam regardless of how far he is from the opponent. Having the charge forward trigger a cutscene if you make contact before the beam fires would make it more like the attack I have in mind for Kefla.

Man this is pitiful and also makes me think back to how the BT4 mod managed a better moveset that ultimately was just reusing moves. Seriously, BT4 managed to make a moveset for these gals that fit the personality and was just fun. Some of it was of course limited by the fact it was a mod and not its own game but still, it had so much craft put into it while here? This is so disappointing. Like you really couldn't think of anything to give them? For God's sake, you have an anime and considering attacks are not off the table, a MANGA to pull from. How do you not get creative with this?

There are some dropped balls there of course (Frankly all the giant Namekians that aren't Slug, Early Piccolo and Orange Piccolo are just wasted slots that admittedly have charm for how they fit right at home with the generic apes.) but they manage so much better than this. In particular, I think about Caulifla and how they used 18's BT2 ultimate for her to PERFECTION.

I could swear Berserk Kale was taller in the anime. Obviously not as big as Broly but like, clearly much taller than that. Also really weird how these two are each missing a transformation. It's not even something that can be easily added in an update. They have to go aaaall the way back, reopen the rigs, keyframe up some combo strings, supers, and ultimates, and still find time to work on new characters. They really dropped the ball in some areas.

Honestly, I love the game when it first came out. I was like reliving my childhood. I still think the game is probably the best modern day Dragon Ball game that we have in terms of the way it makes me feel personally. However, there are a lot of things wrong with this game. I’m not a fan of the Mets at all. I wish instead of going back and trying to make this as classic as possible. They should’ve essentially just did what raging blasted did because that’s superior BT three. And we wouldn’t have many issues I feel like. But they’re going for the nostalgia which is fine but it really makes stuff suffer, especially when it feels like this game was half baked they were forced to, kick it forward because of the new Dragon Ball series which was wrong I could’ve waited until 2025 to get a good game or at least a finished game not a good game because I think the game is good.

@@solas-5176 what I mean is, in Raging Blast they actually did him justice especially with his Ultimate actually being Light Grenade (which should have been Piccolo fused with Kami's Ultimate). Plus there should have been a Piccolo Mid from his fight from Namek to the Android saga, but his Early version only has his moveset from the Saiyan Saga. In fact Piccolo needs a complete overhaul with Piccolo Dragon Ball, Piccolo Early, Piccolo Mid, Piccolo End, and then Piccolo DBS (Potential Unleashed), Orange Piccolo and his giant form.

It's especially weird because one of the most iconic scenes of Super involves a beam skating up that thing. I mean wouldn't it have been cool if a property of UI Goku's ultimate would've been him charging it and thus if a beam is fired at him he skates up it? I wouldn't say so. Broly's whole deal is psychotic rage which they nailed generally. Kale's just uncontrollable violence. Basically give her a beam, a great physical super and honestly a more physical ultimate with potentially if you want to add anything specific to the character an assist from Caulifla and you've got Kale.

@ I meant her general moveset. Most of her energy attacks were based off of classic Broly. Personally I think her Berserker form is more or less fine in this game. Her bas form is okay too, if only because it’s not like she really fights in it. Her super saiyan form however… I think if her ult had a better payoff at the end it would be fine. Good even. Generally I don’t mind super explosive wave, although in this game it does see to be a little too common.

Kale's beserk rush is excellent. The over-the-top "Time for a bloodbath!" followed by just ragdolling the opponent really does it for me. I like the DBS approach of making these Legendary Super Saiyans more like savage animals than sadists. That said, everything else here really sucks. I already didn't like Kale/Caulifa/Kefla, so I'm not upset. Just disappointed they're as boring as I remembered.

Jeez, I just saw the thumbnail and I knew, it was going to be rough 💀 Caulifla is just terrible. Straight up, the worst looking saiyan in the game. Maybe even the worst playable Saiyan that can transform too. Yes, even Melee Trunks is slightly better, at least he can do damage... Kale is slightly better. I like her LSSJ form, she actually has one of maybe like two? Paralysis moves that work. It's fast, can be used to break combos makes hitting her Ultimate easy too. She is pretty much a more defensive version of the three LSSJs. As for Kefla...god, I don't wanna be that guy, but I got sick of how many balls there are in her moveset. Red Energy is cool, I wish there were more rushes where you could see that in action. I don't have much to say on these two, tbh. They are about as mediocre they can get, a filler character, a very much good character with two filler forms and a worse for wear Fusion. My biggest gripe with them is that you can very much see where the Budget of time in the roster went. Somewhere, down the line, the devs shifted gears and started to work on the Z Movie Villains and GT. Those guys are so, SO MUCH BETTER than half the cast of Super. And it feels bad to say because obviously if you make a new DB Arena Fighter, you gotta have the Tournament of Power, because of Kefla, Jiren, MUI Goku and God Toppo. So, my question is: Would have made the roster worse for wear if the ONLY ToP characters were U6 Saiyans, Frost, U11 Troopers and cut the rest of the Jobbers off? Like, I get cutting characters is lame, but I would have 100% taken a better representation of those characters over freaking Bergamo and the Sailor Moon parody gals...

Probably not but I think you'd still the biggest problem of Sparking Zero showing through. This game was just NOT ready for launch at this time. It needed a delay into 2025. Putting such a strict time limit on the devs really hurt them because indeed, you can see where they just had to shift gears to get the game done whereas if they had more time? A roster like this I think would be very possible to crank out with consistent quality.

Part of me is glad that Kale, Caulifla, and Kefla got washed up movesets because of how much I hate these characters, and now their movesets aren’t even cool enough for me to be remotely curious to play as them. I guess the creators of this game hate these characters as much as I do because boy did they do them dirty.

I like Kefla only. Also manga Kale was pretty cool. Anime version is just trash.

I do find it funny how I uploaded Kefla, Caulifla, and Kale movesets, and then Omega did it 😂 Caulifla should've gotten Super Saiyan 1.
