It's sad we only got to see a few scenes of this ship in Star Trek Generations and like the Enterprise C seen in the TNG episode 'Yesterday's Enterprise' and even though we knew the Enterprise B and the Enterprise C were both an Excelsior Class and an Ambassador Class it sure would have been nice to make 2 t.v. series about those 2 ships and they're voyages and missions.

Yup I agree, there should have still been quite a few Ambassador classes still in service in Next Generation times😎👍

It's never known what officially happened to the Enterprise-B. All we know is that she disappeared without a trace in 2329. And after its maiden voyage, Harriman was relieved of command. For a time, Demora Sulu was captain of the Enterprise-B.

Nope. You said Harris-man. It's Harri-man, no "S"

Yeah but I saw a video called Star Trek Truth or Myth on the History and design and development of the Ambassador Class and apparently the reason there isn't a lot of Ambassador Class Starships in service is because early in the classes history the class had a lot of technical problems most importantly in the classes computers which were built based on duotronic technology and isolinear computer systems and it was said that was why the Enterprise C which was an Ambassador Class Starship was lost defending a Klingon outpost from a Romulan attack which was mentioned shouldn't have happened as the Enterprise C was more advanced than the Romulan ships of the time and it was discovered Starfleet command tried to cover it up by falsefying reports on the failures of the class and another thing it was mentioned that during the development of what was called 'Project Ambassador' it was when the Cardassians started rearing they're ugly heads and started problems for Starfleet by attacking the Excelsior Class U.S.S. Enterprise where the ship managed to fight them off but was badly damaged in the encounter and with heavy casualties.

i always felt cheated out of seeing a excelsior class enterprise , when sulu became a captain i was always wondering when it would happen in a show when i was younger especially in comic books as a kid reading letting my imagination run away with it.

Good video, only, if I may point out, his name was HARRIMAN, not Harrisman; not trying to be rude or anything, but it's just what I know...

Oh, no worries, sometimes i just feel the need to point these things out, given that I'm an avid movie/tv watcher and a very careful observer to everything going on; but still, good job, thanks for the video.

Yeah it's funny doing the narrations, I've seen the movies in the shows and everything a million times, but then pronouncing these terms and names and places and things comes out different than when you hear it. Thanks for watching! Enjoy your weekend

This is a cool ship. But it was never my favorite starship. Somehow I just never got very excited by it's bland design. The engineering hull looks like a bathtub slung underneath the saucer, and the nacelle pylons look almost like an afterthought.

I remember back in the day when we saw it, we all knew Enterprise B was a Excelsior class before the movie Generations. I like the upgrades, but I think I prefer the original look more.

@@OmegaOrdained It's a shame they never got the transwarp drive to work. That would have definitely upgraded my admiration for this class ship.
@OmegaOrdained
@OmegaOrdained 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah that transwarp drive system, seemed like they were going to elaborate further on that in the later movies but never got around to it. It would have been the perfect addition to the Excelsior class which was a pretty unique design for the era. Perhaps the design itself was meant to be in combination with the transwarp drive.
@jacksonheathen2092
@jacksonheathen2092 6 жыл бұрын
@@OmegaOrdained Yep. I always wondered since I first saw the Excelsior (in "The Search for Spock") that the space frame itself (with the short folded nacelle pylons) might be specifically shaped to work with the transwarp drive. Unfortunately I never heard much more about transwarp drive (for over a decade) until it became common in Startrek Voyager.

Yeah they missed out on a great story device , the conclusion of the transwarp drive we just never really knew
