He can't. Presumably, he wouldn't be able to prove ownership of the ring in court, so we could very well get arrested and charged with various crimes. He had to take it at the right opportunity, as he proposed to his girlfriend, so that he can win the sympathy of the restaurant manager, who then told the other girl the truth. Had he just gone up to that other girl and taken it, the restaurant manager would likely not have backed him in court.

First short from Omeleto I didn't like. 5 years together and he's not comfortable explaining the mix-up to his woman? And she's dishing out ultimatums? Red flags everywhere screaming they probably shouldn't get married anyways. And the antagonist's dialogue is written so over the top it's hard to take him serious as the villain of this situation. It would've been more interesting (and realistic) to see the couple work together to get the ring back. And the douchebag could be simplified to him unwilling or unable to ruin the girl's positive reaction of him proposing after only a few months.

My husband proposed to me in a restaurant. He asked them to put my ring into my dinner roll. He really freaked me out, when he was glaring at me after I opened the role and there was no ring in it. Later, he told me he thought that I had eaten it! Turns out, the restaurant forgot. They made it up to us later, by bringing out a truffle, and the ring was stuck to the bottom. It surprised both of us! It surprised me, because I wasn’t expecting it. It surprised my husband, because he had assumed the ring was lost!

Yeah.... I mean on one hand the night should be about the celebration of their relationship, but the 'victim's' attention was mostly dedicated to the other 'couple.' One thing that really annoyed me is that the 'victim' was obviously under a lot of stress and something wasn't right... His girlfriend basically ignored the signs. I mean, if you are with someone for 3+ years, you should be able to tell when something's amiss/awry... Kinda wish I didn't watch this video, it was way too drawn out and kinda stupid.
