I know that guy well. I have a Lucy, too. My Lucy's not a dog, though, but a cat, and her name's Nu. She had a brother who ran away a few weeks ago after I had to move house and died under a storm water drain that collapsed on him before I was able to find him. The worst months are those when I run out of cat food. That actor must've known that guy really well, too. The way he portrayed him reduced me to a glistening, soggy pile of rags, blanket and mucus. I'm sure there are a lot of people like that. The way we are makes it hard to find one another. This is an important little film. It's like a beacon of light in a way. I'm so grateful to have seen it. Thanks again, OMELETO.

Powerful short... Been there, rather recently even. Stuck in a downward spiral, failing relationship, lack of friends, risk of losing the roof over my head and a job that ate me alive. Then I met someone who opened my eyes. I didn't realize the path I was on until that someone got me to wake up. So obviously this short film hit really different and it's played pretty darn well.

THIS WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. Powerful. I'm literally crying tears right now typing this. I really felt his suffering . I too was rejected from owning a dog in many rental accommodation my current retal objected against. But as ive ben paying rent 12 years and i keep quiet to myself I decided to break the rules as I don't want to be alone anymore. I took the risk.. Thankfully I have my dog now almost 5 years ! . Hes small and I use a big bag to hide him in when I leave and come back inside. Only once my neighbour told me im not allowed. But i told her im only minding him for a friend. My dog is my world. My dog saved me from taking my life thro depression. My dog is now lying beside now. Wow what a powerful movie this was. It meant so much to me. Almost like a sign. It was made for me. Thank you so much to the producer's who made this. This film is like a message to me. This film reminded me how life is precious and not to be afraid to seek help . There are some people out there who are compassionate. One day when i find i home of my own my dream is to adopt many dogs. I certainly do not want kids. There is enough humans !

I think we are spiritually related. I have 5 fur babies (all cats). My 6th fur baby (a Shih Tzu), departed from this physical realm a couple of months ago and his absence still haunts me. Before him, I had another Shih Tzu, who was abandoned. He was my saving grace. We faced homelessness together. I've been homeless before, but being homeless with someone you love is a slow and powerful blow to the chest. I too never wanted human kids, you are right, too many humans. Unfortunately most humans are raised into the belief of material things = love. My siblings kids turned out like this. They feel unloved if they don't get the new shoes , phones e scooters. @abraxasjinx52075 ай бұрын
In a professional setting like that, that would be out of line. He could perhaps ask if he would like a hug, but even that might cross a professional boundary. You certainly don't just go up and touch them without consent, nor should anyone in any setting or situation. Not everyone is comfortable being hugged or touched, and this guy has clearly had some trauma. Pouring him a glass of water was the correct response.
@Max-gd6bx3 ай бұрын
@abraxasjinx5207 yes. The therapist then redirects the topic back to this man's anchor - he asks about the dog. You see this helps the main character ground himself and regulate some of the intense emotions he's going through.

I felt that this short film dealt more with other issues than just loneliness. The dog was a blessing to the man because it caused him to connect with a therapist who will help him. I was touched and wanted to give the man a hug and see how I could help him. The dog was beautiful and in need of help also. We truly need one another to help us deal with our emotional and financial challenges. I did appreciate how the man attempted to help others in spite of his excruciating pain. I put big fat cushions between the backseat & the centre console & his seatbelt harness lets him sit resting his front legs on the console. Although he used to brace himself on the passenger seat so he could hold himself with his head pressed up against my arm & I’d spend most of the drive kissing his big super velvety soft flurpy ears. I hope you get many many many more years of car rides with your best buddy 🤗🐶

@@resolecca I have thought of making him a ramp I can fold up & keep in the car for him. He sits on the back seat though so it will have to be pretty long so it’s not too steep for him. Must keep an eye open for some suitable wood

What an incredible watch. This really moved me. Coming from someone who has struggled with depression throughout my life, I really related to this. Great work! ❤️

Very moving and convincing performance by the lead actor. I definitely felt his pain.

If characters within a story can project their pain & suffering to the viewers, you feel more connected to the story. If all that can be achieved within a small time frame, kudos to all those involved. This is my second viewing of this short film, & it still packs a punch of realism.
