Great to see the new angles in this video. Getting professional on us. I am 170 lbs, so there is a weight difference between us. But I also think the Omen just get's better and better the more you ride it. Plus the full package with board designed for foil can't be beat. I'll put straps on soon and see how it feels to jump. Haven't tested that yet.

I do think the foil would be magical at that weight. Sadly there’s no foil that can do it all once you start putting 200 pounds on it. It’s either gonna be big and slow to pump and glide or small and fast with no pump and glide.

Nice looking spot! As an owner of the 1050, I appreciate that the stainless allows the overall fuse profile to be thinner, meaning less drag through the speed range and during turns on waves. I’m working on some freestyle but focused on wave riding, which is ultimately why I purchased an Omen. I think the fuselage design and material is a big contributor to those rail to rail turns you mentioned.

I can appreciate that point of view. Probably part of why it rides well with grass on it. But I’ve also heard the original design was going to use titanium. Which for me would justify the high price and make it a truly high end foil. Also I’m not crazy about having a shiny metal lure under me to catch Whitey’s eye.

Hi! Great Video. I would love to see more of the mast profile ... Some closer look!

I don’t have the foils anymore, but I’m sure if you contact Omen on Instagram they could send you some photos. It’s a good mast. Probably 15mm is my guess based on when I interview NoLimitz about their V2. There’s a lot of info on the NoLimitz mast in my AWSI 2023 video.

im curious about the board i heard a lot of good comment on it, too bad you couldnt test those in combination with the foils.

Joe is a big fan. He likes it a lot more than his previous Cabrinha board. I like flat bottomed boards. It’s also hard to get a true opinion of a foil on a different board. You don’t know what you’re feeling. The board or foil.

@@wingmanfoilclub so maybe you will be able to try your foil on the omen flux ? 😜

@youdigsurf maybe. Maybe. Haha

How would you compare the omen to Code S foils? Glide/speed/pump? Thanks
@wingmanfoilclub9 ай бұрын
I felt like the Code had more glide and pump and the Omen turned better.

Thanks

@oskarhansson3744 for sure. I had to say too much more because I haven’t ridden them THAT much to compare them. I think speed was similar. They also have very different tails which affects the feels a lot

I understand, coming from axis png1150 and hps 980 I’ve been looking at Code 1300s/980s combo as a new setup. No distributor where I live so can’t demo them but feels like a really solid system

@oskarhansson3744 they’re definitely very nice foils. It’s just a preference thing. Everyone I know that has tried the Code or bought one has been very happy.

Great review. Leo Carillo sucks. Shorebreak breaking on rocks. Kelp everywhere. Lifeguards constantly threatening tickets. Usually crowded.

Haha. Yep. I’m sure we’ll be banned from the surfer wave soon enough. Luckily there’s a whole coastline to explore. Caught a lot of good waves on the downwinder the other day not accessible to surfers. I just ask newcomers that come to Leo to stay out of the lineup and take advantage of the very large riding area downwind of the rocks. Less kelp. Less seaweed. No crowds at all.

I fully agree with this comment and am not being sarcastic in anyway. :) Not my favorite spot to ride at all.

If only there was 15 miles of uninterrupted coastline we could access instead of packing in like sardines on one little wave. Oh wait. There is.
