The rough part about Sammy's situation is I'm sure he was the most loyal and dedicated to Omerta, but the moment he said yes to John Gotti in helping him kill their boss, all rules and regulations were out the window. There's speculation that Gotti wanted Sammy(before going on the Lamb) to kill Chin Gigante so that he could have the excuse to have him killed simply because his ego was so huge that he couldn't deal with Sammy getting all the praise because he was the only one that could get work done. Gotti would tell Sammy that's it's retaliation for the car bomb that killed Dechico (which was meant for Gotti). I acknowledge you doing great things here. I cannot wait to hear about your upcoming interview with John Deaton ESQ. as well. I swear I can smell the auto body shop in the 80's and I'm 10yrs old listening to my grandfather and great uncles and the guys argue and talk. I can smell the mix of old oil and sweet lavender blowing in from the backdoor all mixed with a cloud of pipe and cigar smoke. My family lost everything for omerta. "Tax evasion". What I was lead to believe was that the government people were evil and took everything from us because we had too much. To this day I don't know who was made, connected or associated. What I do know was EVERYONE lived well. After that it was public housing and government cheese. But my grandfather would be about 110 years old...they kept the serious stuff out of "our" neighborhood. I understand now that people were suffering for our privilege. Such is life...
