Hey you, great reaction Joe E 😁. Nova Leigh Paholek does come out swinging on this, real hard, and I love her attitude. Nova may of had a tough life, but instead of being a victim, she's a warrior and makes no apologies for who she is. The video is simplistic in concept but executed really well, and her performance is everything, just like Chinchilla. They both are able to convey the message with just their gesticulation and facial expressions, pure artistry. Give champagne to SuperNova 🌠, she's the real deal .

Yep, Toms beat, he produces all of her music, and actually, the Chorus was on one of his unreleased songs he never recorded, but he gave it to her for this song. She made a video and stated that, and she cried when he did it. "DID YOUR BEST" is a great song about her family.... #HOG

On her page is the version Def Jam wanted her to be, then she did a studio version with her own style. You can do both in one reaction, showing the contrast. The studio version is the one everyone suggests to see because it's the version of Nova that we all love. I always suggest that new people watch them both to see the difference. The studio version is the video of her with white flip flops on the thumbnail. Definitely worth checking out.

Nova was signed to Def Jam, a while back. They were grooming her to be a ‘Brittany Spears/Beastie Boys’ hybrid. This is not who Nova is but it was the Nova they wanted. When they dropped her from the label, they stabbed her in the back (she found out when the apartment manager told her the label wasn’t paying her rent). She swore she would never touch a keyboard again - That is the significance of the piano in the video, she is ready to play it again but as the “New and True” Nova. If you replace “HEY YOU” with “Yo, Def Jam 🖕🏼”, you get a sense of what Message Nova is trying to convey to them. #hangovergang forever 🤘🏻🤘🏿🤘🏼🤘🏽

@joeesparks7 She's great!!!! Wishing Well is another favorite of mine from hers. Very simple but powerful visuals too. I believe when I read when she got dropped from her label they didn't tell her right away and she found out because her landlord said the rent didn't come that month. So it was a huge surprise. I couldn't even imagine. She's definitely a beast!! But the sweetest person outside the music stuff. It's nice to see that she has the outlet of music.

One thing that blew me away with this song (along with everything else about it and the video) was the chorus when she asks if you like her smile/style she got it from someone that she killed/blood that she spilled... Then she has the verse that says she "killed the old me". I thought wow, the smile from her old self, the style from her old self that she killed so she could progress.

She went silent for a while after Def Jam did her dirty while they tried to change her into something she wasn't as an artist. They nearly crushed her spirit, and she backed off of doing music and focused on her visual-art for filming and editing Tom's videos. The cool thing about Tom and Nova's relationship is that they're constantly lifting each other up, and I'm sure he had a lot to do with getting her to start doing music again. The piano in the video has a special meaning. It represents how she covered her musical talent and has now uncovered it again. She's back and unapologetically using her status as an independent artist to be the real Nova that Def Jam tried to change. As both a music-artist and visual-artist Nova is a genius-level talent. She's also a hoot to watch when she streams on Twitch.

When Def Jam screwed her over, Nova lost all her confidence and said she would never play the piano again. She has her confidence back now and her tearing the sheet off the piano and playing some chords, is her saying, I'm back!!! Let's go! SuperNova is a beast!!! I believe her early stuff is on lock from Deff Jam so she has no control over it. Deff jam wanted her to be a mix of Beastie Boys & Britnay Spears if I recall from other informative posts, they definitely wanted her to be more Rap/Pop which she fought against. That may be why they dropped her without any notice, but of course they held her to years on lockdown with the contract she signed. She just got released from it this year, I heard Tom mention on a livestream a little while back. I'm sure it's just one of the reason's Tom & Nova really, really, really hate the music industry. 🔥🔥🔥 👍😎👍
