*WASHING* them mofos on a regualar basis would actually do the trick. 🤷🏾♀️💯😅 I remember people who wore "Locks" *used to be* some of thee _cleanest_ people you could come across. Now that the HOLY hairdo has become a "trend," I _see_ that CLEANLINESS is NOT required.

Baking soda, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice to wash my hair. No ma'am. So, let me get this straight, your telling people to use the same products that they use for cleaning and scrubbing heavy build up stains for their kitchen, stove, and bathroom with, use Baking Soda and Apple cider vinegar to wash their hair. Same ingredients to get rid of rust on, your putting on people's hair. You might as well tell them to use bleach to wash their hair. Baking soda has high levels of PH. It has more alkaline than shampoos. You keep using Baking Soda and it will break down the bonds of people's hair. It will make it dry and brittle. The crystals in baking soda will cause the hair strands to rip. People with dry skin, dry scalps, or eczema should avoid using baking soda, Period. Apple cider vinegar has a lot of acid in it and your adding lemon juice that also has acid. Your going to strip the persons hair especially if they dyed and relax their hair. People need to stop doing everything they see on social media, before they end up in the ER or worst.

NEVER put undiluted baking soda or vinegar on your hair. I'm not trying to shame her, but she is doing a disservice to those people's hair and scalp. In the long run, this will cause severe breakage. Please do your research, and look up the science behind things before using them.

As a scientist, THANK YOU for this post. Acids do what Acids are meant to do regardless the type. Acids strips, burns, etc. Baking soda is a carbonate thus...nvmnd. folks just wash your hair and/or scalp on a regular basis. Stop making chemical experiments on your scalp. Dry scalp = dandruff. Red small bumps = scalp irritation. Smdh

You know, I’ve always looked at those detoxes and became a lil nervous at the ingredients. 😅 I did my first detox on my locs in 2.5 years and I just used warm water and a lil dawn dish soap and let them soak. Idk if that’s healthy either, but a good alternative if the baking soda and acv scare you like it did me 😊

I used to rinse my hair with acv when my hair was not locked. My hair was very healthy and my hair regime was not a complexed one. The detox done in the video is not something you're supposed to do on a regular basis maybe every 6 months at the earliest and if done on unlocked hair I would not let this sit longer than 5 mins or so but one should go based on the severity of one's build up. Locked hair needs more time to allow certain solutions to penetrate.
@whyask9864Ай бұрын
@velmafrezzell950 Acv not bad for hair. However using acv, baking soda and lemon will absolutely strip the hair especially who doesn't have locs. All three is very acidic. I'm no loctitian but I don't think the detox should be applied this way.

Just buy shampoo and conditioner for locs and braids Baking soda has a high pH level, around 9. This can break down the bonds in hair's protein molecules, making it dry and brittle. The abrasive crystals in baking soda can also cause hair strands to rip, leading to split ends and breakage. People with dry skin, dry scalps, or eczema should avoid using baking soda.

That is a natural buildup, no matter how often you shampoo and condition your hair. This method strips everything from your hair, which is why the addition of moisture at the end is mandatory. Her hair wasn't deliberately allowed to build up. The build up is from the excess product used.
