I was introduced to Corey Taylor's genius by a friend who served in the Gulf War. He was a tortured soul, who had the hardest time letting anyone in deep enough to allow for love. Corey Taylor and Eddie Vedder were his outlets, and as we listened to their music in the dark, I realized that my own heart was pretty tightly closed as well. It is truly amazing how someone else can so unselfishly allow you to feel 'their' pain, so you can ride yours out more easily. I am forever grateful to the compassionate souls who warrior for us.
