Back in the day I don't think we were surprised at the lyrics of songs, we just sang along with them & enjoyed!

"Hats Off To Larry (1961). Was a great hit for Del Shannon. After his other monster hit "Runaway." Which you need to react to. The 60's rabbit Hole is creating a lot of fans on your channel. And fans of the 60's music decade. Always love your take on music. And why you are growing in subscriptions daily. Awesome reaction as always.

Very great indeed when Max Crook adds insult to injury with his Musitron. Del's music in a way was paranoid talking about the betrayals and wanting to get even. This song like "Runaway" was also ahead of its time when synthesizers weren't yet a part of Rock Music. Del Shannon was the man that electrified Pop Music because he established that sound.

Little town flirt is in the same world of Hats off to Larry, only that Del is warning guys about the girl. Charles Westover a.k.a. Del Shannon was one of the most influential musicians of his time. He wrote, sang, and played guitar. Most of Dels songs were written from his own life experiences.

These songs back in the early 60s captured the angst of being so young and experiencing things like this story. I was thinking that he should be careful if she comes back because she likes to run away, which leads into the other hit Run Away, which actually came out first. Have you reacted to that one yet ? Listen also to Dion doing The Wanderer and Run Around Sue, which are also connected the way these two by Del Shannon are .

Very young people can be dismissive and uncaring about relationships, until they get to see how the heart break of betrayal really feels. He might just be hoping life has matured her, so she'll appreciate him a bit more. A lot of folk way back when, didn't have as robust relationships as today, before the pill was invented, so it may not be as drastic as you thought, him wanting to try again with her.
