Tracy Chapman... a legend! I'll never forget when I first saw her on Screen singing "Talkin' About A Revolution" and leaving the crowd breathless. So amazing singer/songwriter. Also "Fast Car" and "Sorry" are brilliant songs of her. Btw: this Video is imo perfect! Can't believe you haven't heard her yet -- she's amazing. Check out her duet with BB King -- "The Thrill is Gone." Do you know who BB King is? If not, he's one of THE greatest blues guitarists ever -- great voice on him, too. Both Tracy & he sing and play guitar on that one. You'll looooove it. This is nice, but the mix on her studio version has a lot more bass and depth to it. You should check that out. It's also a slower groove on the studio. They sped it up a beat here, which is different. Her song "Fast Car" is one of the most compelling songs ever written by anyone. Ever. (She writes her songs. Talkin' About A Revolution is terrific too.)

I think she sped this song up a little bit for this particular performance, and I have to say I think I prefer her own original slower version better. You get more time to enjoy her silky smooth vocals and that guitar of hers, and the song doesn't feel quite as rushed as it does in this version. But all the same, It's Tracy Chapman and her voice is still sexy as hell and this song is still amazing no matter what ❤

Fast car was her other really big hit. But I love everything she sings. She was very underrated singer. I think just because pop/ grunge / and group rx& b were really big in that time. So singl singer songwriter vibe was just not making the money. And when your not pullin in the money you don’t get pushed as hard on the radio. Your not promoted like other artists are. It’s a shame cuz her voice was special.
