What is Shadow of the Colossus?
Shadow of the Colossus, released in Japan as Wander and the Colossus is an action-adventure video game developed by SIE Japan Studio and Team Ico, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. The game was released in North America and Japan in October 2005 and PAL territories in February 2006. It was directed by Fumito Ueda and developed at SCEI's International Production Studio 1, also known as Team Ico, the same development team responsible for the cult hit Ico.

Fun Fact: Fumito Ueda (the genius behind Ico, SoTC and the Last Guardian) has said that the attachment he saw gamers have with Agro in this game was one of the initial influences for coming up with The Last Guardian.

The second time I heard the intro, tears just started flowing over my whole face.The real beauty of the opening song only shows itself after the game has started. I'm still speechless in face of this masterpiece.

Colossus is singular in Latin. The plural is then colossi. Maybe you already know that from the word bonus, which is plural boni.

One of my favorite features of the game is Agro's AI. He does seem to act like a real horse sometimes. Not sure if the remake retains that...

Funny thing about this game, technically when riding Agro you're still controlling Wander and not Agro.

Well, the voice actors were Japanese, but because it was a made up language, there was no need to hire different actors for other countries.

the bonding with the horse the player makes in this game was unintended by the developers, when they realised the players bonded more with the horse than the relationship between wander and the woman it inspired them to make the last guardian, possibly my favourite game ever made so far

Don't forget to shoot and collect the white tail lizards and any fruits in trees you come across. Increases your health and grip. power

Suzy, take the picture of colossus when you climb them. When you stay close of them you can move away or adjust de camera and the angle any way you want :)

Ive been play this game in PS 2, and now in PS4 ? This is so amazing, and just dont forget to eat some fruit from tree for long HP and hunting light tale lizard for your stamina more long to climb and hold something, just for advice and for good game

Confusing controls? It defaults to Modern Controls, where it’s X to jump. The PS3 game you started, had triangle to jump. Just like The Last Guardian. You can switch to Classic Controls in settings. As the triangle and R1 being in close proximity means you can do the jump/grab manoeuvre smoothly and is more comfortable. Hooking your thumb to X may cause thumb cramps... Unless it’s too late for you to change back. lol.

I tried playing this game on PS2 back in the day, but i really disliked the gameplay. Then i tried again when it came out for PS3 and i had played and loved ICO, but again, i couldn't bring myself to do it (damm horse). I think now is the time. I'll finnally understand. The Last Guardian is your favourite game of all time? I've tried playing it a couple times but I just get bored. It doesn't hook me. Shadow of the Colossus on the other hand, is a masterpiece.

The language is clearly not Japanese. Rather, the language is unique to this game - a fictional language. And the horse is actually called "Agro".

Yesssssssss, I beat this game like 5 times in its original PS2 format, but seeing it on the PS4 is like discovering art for the first time again! EDIT: no, the language is fictional to the game EDIT2: the horse's name is Agro :) unfaithful at times, but he's a good horse to have

Why is the music so low for the remake??? I have a surround system and for the music to match the sound effects I need to turn down the sound effects and blast my system all the way to the max to just have the sound right?? The sound design is amazing but I have the blast my sound system just to get the sound right with the music
