I could see doing this with dollar store/dollar tree polishes making the "waste " at least affordable. I wouldn't use my more expensive babies for this. It turned out really pretty and reminds me of That 70's show. Tfs

It came out beautiful. I have those salon perfect colors and they dried down fast and flat because they dry matte or like a satin finish. I love the fact they dry so fast and not so glossy.

so pretty and organic, totally looks like art! reminded me a little of Robin Moses's "no water - water marble" technique, if you look up any of her vids about it, she shows how she removes the excess, pooling polish by just pressing a finger to the edge and pulling.

I try Robin Moses techniques quite a bit, but I believe it is time to try this one of yours. grey, gray and black. Should be funky. Thanks for the idea. Side note... After trailing the polish off, why not touch it in the trail for a edge cover?

I think I'm gonna try something similar but with a syringe (it's a saline flush, no needle). Very cool idea. I like how they turned out. The only thing I'd suggest is, instead of dragging your nail on the paper, use another finger and press into the tip, then pull the polish around the tip to "cap" it. I hope that makes sense!

Melly Page Some people are saying it's reminding them of drip marble which I've never seen lol but that involves a silicone mat and making decals which I hate doing lol But I've never seen anyone do this before. Maybe they have but I try not to watch many nail videos so I'm not influenced too much lol But then I miss a lot of things 😂

Well done with your commitment to this technique. 👍🏻 I always just record straight off the bat, I don't have patience to do it again ☺️ I personally wouldn't do this directly on my nail coz of the mess and I'm rubbish at clean up ☺️ So what if it's wasteful, 🎶"it's your polish and you will waste it if you want to, waste it if you want to" 🎶 😂 it's not as much waste as "polish mountain" and least your nails looked pretty at the end. I am so very bad at cleaning up nail polish. I try to paint them a close to good as possible to avoid clean up, so I probably won't try this. I really think I just need to invest in another clean up brush! :)

In my experience, salon perfect polishes have always been more thin than other brands. maybe that's why they thinned out and dried easier?

Don't you think that one polish from Salon Perfect looks like China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy? I'm hearing on the interwebs that Salon Perfect is a China Glaze company. Looks like they did a better job with the formula this time. And I love this manicure. Have you tried this technique on a nail art mat? Just put the colors on and pick it up to make them drip. Then you could make a decal instead of soaking your nails in polish.

This design reminds me of some kind of a marble or stone table top/kitchen counter, or something. 🤔 This is perfect for creme neons but I want to try to do it with rainbow colours (which could very easily become a hot mess), or neutral tones. 😯

Also, I love the little dish you had your acetone in. Also also, my favourite part was how the orange sparkly colour got sort of separated looking around the edges if itself... 😅 I wonder if this could be re-created on a nail art mat or a plastic sandwich bag for nail decals. 🤔🤔 The pooling around the cuticles gave me heart palpitations.
