This movie has more whiplash in the first ten minutes than entire years' worth of movies do, and it's done super well. Such a great movie.

This movie moved my son so much that he learned to play the theme song on the piano. He also built the Up house out of Legos, which sits on the piano.😊

Some things reactors seem to miss or at least don’t call out: The pilot dog’s are called “Gray #” because they are color-blind and play off the Red Squadron of SW: A New Hope. Also, when they crash it is identical to the death star trench run when Darth Vader and his wingmen are picked off by Han and Chewie.

That 7 minute segment at the beginning of UP is the best short story Pixar has ever created.
@daniellanctot65488 ай бұрын
*_PIXAR has a knack for hitting the right emotional cord in people’s heart, blindsiding them into tears, but usually that moment comes in much later in the movie: UP sets itself appart from all the other by ripping your guts out in the first 10 or so minutes of the movie (Which is no small feat!!)._*

Once upon a time, my grandpa and I visited England for about a week. Grandma wanted me to go slow because Grandpa "needed" a cane to get around. That was quite unnecessary; I'm already slower than molasses on a cold day and Grandpa kept telling me to hurry up. On our way back, Grandpa "accidentally forgot" his cane in the trunk of the car.

I’m a “Disney Adult”…when you are at Disneyland and you come across a cast member who went above and beyond to make sure you have an exceptional Disney experience you can give them a grape soda Ellie Badge. I always bring some when I go to the park (I buy them online) It’s a high honor for them to get one for their lanyard ☺️

Yeah, the amount of balloons used I lift the house is about the amount that would be needed to lift about 35-50 lbs. Mythbusters tested how many balloons it would take to lift a small child up in the air. It looked pretty close to the amount used here lol

Never saw "Up," but here are some trivia bits I can do for it. - Released in 2009; directed by Pete Docter; written by Bob Peterson, Pete Docter, and Tom McCarthy. - Nominated for 5 Oscars in 2009: Best Picture (only the second animated film ever nominated), Best Original Screenplay, Best Animated Feature Film, Best Original Score, and Best Sound Editing. It won in two categories - Animated Feature Film and Original Score for its composer Michael Giacchino. - In an amazing coincidence, Ed Asner (the voice of Carl) and Christopher Plummer (the voice of Charles Muntz) were both born in 1929, and both died in 2021. Asner was older by about four weeks (November 15 for him, December 13 for Plummer). - Ed Asner was the only actor to win Emmy Awards in comedy and drama categories for playing the same character.

The whole thing with Russel’s dad and Phyllis is that Phyllis is Russel’s step-mom. His parents are divorced
@ronweber14028 ай бұрын
And when Phyllis says that Russel bugs him too much it's obvious she is trying to separate them and it seems to be working.

Not even Russell's step-mom. Just the new wife (or girlfriend) of his dad, with little to no relationship between her and Russell..
@bjm90717 ай бұрын
It's not really clear who she is. She could be the babysitter who watches him when his dad is away.
@ronweber14027 ай бұрын
@@bjm9071 Oh FFS are you dim or been living under a rock? Phyllis is clearly the new wife or girlfriend. You obviously have never been around the kids of divorced parents. The language reads like a manual of alienating your husbands previous kid.

Check out the series Dug Days. The opening theme shows that Carl sold the Spirit of Adventure, split the money with Russell, and used his half to buy himself and Dug a new little house. And then Russell and his mom used his share to buy the house directly next door! 😊

There is a Airbnb in the states somewhere that is a replica of the house including the balloons hanging from a crane. It looks so cool. The harry potter tent hotel is epic tho in America somewhere too. You guys have all the best stuff even tho most of the places they filmed harry potter are just a bus ride away from where i live, those " tent" rooms are incredible. I absolutely love this movie but it has one major major plot hole. It's clear that Carl is at least in his 70's when he embarks on his journey with his floating house. If that is the case then Charles Munz would be a MINIMUM of 95 years old. Kinda impossible but either way a great movie!
@janleonard31018 ай бұрын
I remember something about an explanation in the script that was not filmed where we learned that Kevin's species laid eggs that had life extending properties and that's how Munz was still alive.
