Corgan's vocals can be pretty soft, so I totally get not quite catching everything he's saying, especially if you're a first-timer. ^_^ Glad you enjoyed it! If you ever plan on reaction to more Pumpkins; I personally recommend (as far as their harder rock goes) Quiet, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, and Zero.

About the lyrics: the song is about the music industry/business/scene. The Pumpkins were never the type of the band the was trying to fit in a scene. They were too big for the alternative/indie world they were associated with, grunge was huge but they were not from Seattle, they were never too radio friendly even when they went more poppy. Billy would get shit from everybody, people telling what he should do/sound/dress/play. Cherub Rock is basically a "fuck off" to all of them.
