Hey man! Thanks so much for the content over the years. Sorry to hear that you’re not having as much fun with the game, it’s sure a treat to watch you play and I hope you find it to either enjoy the game again or move to something that brings you joy. I’m happy as long as I get to watch you :)

Do you play any, like, single player or story based games? You're an amusing dude and I think I'd enjoy watching you play something along the lines of Baldur's Gate 3 with commentary, if that's something you'd enjoy.

Higher tiers tend to be harder, but your teammates also become less trashy the more you climb. I love it when my tank actually creates space, and doesnt spam "Need healing" every 2 seconds. Long story short, having competent people in your team makes this game fun, especially if you dont play meta. Reaper is either an invisible, edgy racecar or an edgy beyblade, take your choice Kami. 😄

Playing a game at top 15% of player base is an interesting thing. At that point you can assume that people will consistently execute in the moment (mechanical skill). So then the only way to create a gap is to min/max every detail about the engagements you take. At some point things become so calculated and quantified that it seems there are only 1 or 2 different ways to play the situation (based on current match ups). When things are that quantified, it seems the freedom of gameplay expression goes away. That is why games at a high level seem to be "not as fun". So the question becomes.. What do we do about this? Suggestion 1: You challenge the yourself by playing things that you know put you at a disadvantage. For example, you like to play Pharah. Well even if you get everyone on the other team to switch to hitscan, and you know that's a match up your aren't supposed to win. Figure out how you can play it in such a way to still win fight's. You will lose more games that way, but you also get back the creativity and gameplay expression. I think that playing in a calculated way is the source of a game becoming "not fun". Suggestion 2: There isn't a thing on this planet that won't eventually get boring/repetitive if you do it a lot. So just switch games for a bit, and when you come back it will feel fresh again. For me the sweet spot is like a month. After a month of grinding a game, it becomes a bit stale, and something else seems appealing to play. If you are doing this constantly with new games, it can become exhausting. So pick like 3-5, and just cycle them. I personally have been doing that between Paladins, Overwatch, and Halo for the last 5 years. I can say that I still love all those games even though at times I am "Done" with them haha. I will say though that Overwatch rewards mechanical skill more than gameplay expression. So it tends to get old quickest for me (out of those 3).

yep, your analysis sums up why I've stopped liking pvp games, the better you get the more it becomes a 'job': you've to learn the right way to do it or you won't be fit. There WOULD be the chance to just mess up and have fun in casual but, oddly enough, in every pvp game I tried, the non competitive modes are those filled with pro wannabe that flame and harass others if they don't play according to the damned 'meta'. Also, this thing seems quite evident in OW because of how countering is done and how impactful ultimates can be so it might become stale faster than others of these games.

Idk it kinda sounded a bit like you don’t really enjoy video games anymore. I get it. The gaming industry in general is completely different than when we started playing games. We’re grown men now too. Probably time to move on from competitive play and just focus on casual gaming.
