In this video I install the Omix-ADA 7 Inch Fender Flare kit. This kit fits Jeep Wranglers (TJ) from 97-06.
Tires are 33x12.5r15 (4.25" offset) BFGoodrich KO2s
I didn't mention it in the video, but a keen observer might notice I added my own washers. The included washers are just a bit too small. Any wide washer with a 1/4" hole will work. The ones I used are actually called "Fender Washers" at the bolt shop. Go figure.
Thanks for watching! If you enjoyed this video or found it at all useful, please consider giving it a like and checking out some of my other stuff. If you would like to show some support for my channel, hit the Subscribe button.

I couldn't figure out those nut-serts, I tried one and it just kept spinning. Had been looking online and found some new tool I'd have to buy for this one-time use. I'm so glad you made this video and I stumbled upon it. Super simple but yet so effective!! Thanks a bunch!

Good video. Did you end up using nut-serts for all of the holes? I don’t see any reason to go back with the fasteners that require you to hold the back of it.

Definitely agree. I think it's too far-gone to fix that fender. Probably best to replace the whole thing.

Jeep turned out 👍👍👍👍 What size of wheels do you have o it???
@spacerag

The wheels were 15". I can't recall the width though tbh. They had a big 4.25" offset to accommodate the 33x12.5 tires

Did this on mine and have slight gaps in some places between the body and the flare. A little concerned about crap getting stuck in there in winter. Has that been an issue for you? I'm thinking about running some silicone in the gap.
@spacerag
@spacerag 3 жыл бұрын
Mine hasn't got a straight line left on it so I likely have a lot of little gaps. I never had any issues with slop or ice getting in and causing issues. It would be a real mess to have to get silicone off there after. I'd let it buck. These things are full of all kinds of nooks and crannies for ice and dirt to get stuck. What's a few more?

@@spacerag thanks for the reply. You are right! Mine is an 04 and only 60K miles and I’m probably too neurotic about it 😀 I have to remind myself it’s just a Jeep!

@@spacerag Did they not give you a casket to fit on the flares that sits against the body?

Question, while the flares are off, can you drive or do the inner fenders flop around? I ask as I will need to do this over a few days while fixing rust before putting the new ones on.
@spacerag
@spacerag Жыл бұрын
It's been a while now but as I recall the inner fenders werent attached using any of the hardware holding on the fender flares. It seemed as though it was made to function without any flares at all.

@@spaceragThank you very much for the quick reply, it is appreciated. I have been wanting to get the body work going as the frame and everything else is rock solid, but running around and being the center of aa 7 yer olds world makes the task scary. Gotta be there for the kids daily routines, lol. Again, thank you!
