Good to see that at least some people understand the point of this sequence in the World Between Worlds. You nailed it completely. Some people are so focused (and irrationally mad) on Ahsoka "beating" Anakin that they completely MISS THE ENTIRE POINT of this episode. It just sadly goes to show that a lot of self-proclaimed "fans" only care about flashiness and appeasing their own pre-determined thoughts than actually paying attention to the stories and lessons being told. Star Wars is not just about lightsaber fights. GOOD Star Wars is when there is purpose and a story or lesson being told through those fights. This was masterful storytelling that just frustrates me how easily some people miss it. Also, please never apologize for the long talks/discussions you include in your vids man. I, and I'm sure a lot of other fans, love hearing the thoughts of other Star Wars fans. That's honestly one of my favorite things about this fandom: The discussions (despite sadly, sometimes those discussions descend into conflict and idiocy among certain parts of the fandom who are so far jammed up their ass that they can't even acknowledge thoughts different from their own). So again, I say talk away dude lol. I love hearing your thoughts and comparing/contrasting my own that I come up when watching these episodes.

I agree with everything you mentioned in this video as far as Anakin being a real manifestation and what his real lesson is to her. She needs to get over the past and live, go forward……not let her legacy or who she is be tainted by who her Master became or what happened during the Clone Wars. Well done. She was so afraid of becoming another Vader or teaching another Vader, that she herself was starting to fall down his path. I think the biggest telling moment was her focus turning away from stopping Thrawn, and her swearing to find Ezra and Sabine, finally choosing compassion over her fears.

It's entirely possible there's many different Purrgil species out there. The Star Wars galaxy has barely any awareness and understanding about them as it is, so it's definitely possible the species Ezra interacted with had molars for teeth and eat gas, while Ahsoka encountered baleen-toothed Purrgil who sift through gas/plankton-rich atmospheres like on Seatos.

I Agree With You on Where Ahsoka Was. And The Lesson On Living. I also Believe Part Of the Overall Lesson Is ''To Let the Past Stay In the Past'' Like the Thing's Ahsoka Cannot Change nor Had Control Over. Once he disarms her she passively gains the upperhand and disarms him she finds her chill in the force becoming Ahsoka The White. The Life and Death thing is most interesting to me too. Particularly because of Padme “losing the will to live”. Basically Ahsoka had the same choice she had and ultimately chose differently. And with Anakin at the center of both.

Weird side thought i had listening at youur break around 41 minutes. Talking about not finishing her battle with vader still being stuck there mentally. She's stuck mentally where she was pulled from in rebels. Ashoka has moved pasted those feelings, that moment she didn't finish. Although her life was saved, she hasn't started living any until she returned to the world between worlds and her confrontation. Just a stay thought i had. Figured I'd share with other overthinkers.

I agree with you that it was Anakin himself for one big reason, as gifted as Jacen may be I don't believe he can hear what is going on in Ahsoka's "subconscience", i.e. light sabers. He heard what was going on in the WBW, not what was happening in Ahsokas head.

Reasons why I believe it is Anakin and not just a projection of Ahsoka's mind while she is floating at sea: 1. Ahsoka would have been found or drowned after floating for hours. 2. Anakin became the Keeper of the Balance. He was a Child of the Force, the Chosen one, and was literally offered the job by the Father. When Ahsoka, Obi-wan and Anakin visited Mortis, they were taken out of time and space. The same thing probably happened here. 3. "I've heard that before", not knowing the Siege of Mandalore, and the supposedly cut scene of Ahsoka vs. Vader in Mustafar. (The turn before igniting his red lightsaber would have made even more sense).

I guess for my own head cannon, I thought of her journey like Dr. Strange's astral projection. Her near death defeat and through the Force, she was astral projected into the World between Worlds (or a nebulous space formed by her own experience/subcounsious perhaps?) and her physical body was still floating in the water, but maybe protected by the Force in a bubble until she wakes back up. But I also think Anakin's actual spirit does really join her.

Also, a lot has been made (on NR, in your point here in the video, and in legions of comments I’ve seen) about the Luke thing being “too specific” but…I really don’t think that’s true? “I told him I didn’t want to fight him” seems like the core thesis of how Jedi Master Luke would likely tell the story of fighting his father…when talking to his father’s former apprentice. Like, I think it would be weird if Luke *didn’t* say that, you know? I dunno. I love how Dave’s writing and direction allows this debate to flourish!

Ok so here's my my best guess on what is happening with the World Between Worlds here. I think that it's extremely rare, almost unheard of, for anyone one to enter physically like Ezra and Ahsoka did in Rebels because those portals that Ezra found are very few and far between. However, every Jedi's spirit probably passes through it upon dying before becoming one with the Force and that's what we saw here. Ahsoka was so close to death that her spirit entered the World Between Worlds and she had to choose to live or pass on. I do believe that really was Anakin's force ghost she was speaking to and that he was less ghost-like only because of where they were. We'll have to agree to disagree on the fact that Ahsoka was physically in the World Between Worlds. I believe they couldn't find her body because for all intents and purposes she was dead and no life signs were detectable. One point that leads me to this conclusion is that she loses both of her sabers in the last part of the fight with Anakin yet has them again when they find her in the water. It's not particularly important to the story either way. There is a hell of a lot here that is intentionally left up to interpretation and I freely admit I could be wrong. Either way, nothing with a friendly debate. Only Sith deal in absolutes, right? 😉 Also one last thing that wasn't pointed out in the breakdown is notes of Kanan's theme from the end of A World Between Worlds is intermixed with the Force theme when Jacen is listening to the sabers. That got me teary-eyed and put a lump in my throat on first viewing. Apologies for the essay and glad you are feeling a bit better.

Se never see his arms in ROTJ they are covered in his cloak. But they can appear how they see themselves or how they were before they fell, even Luke's Ghost only uses his left hand when we see him.

I’m back! Glad you’re feeling better bud. So…we know explicitly that Ahsoka is NOT physically, actually, in the world between worlds. She can’t be. Check it: 1. One can commune via the world between worlds in the force, first of all. We’ve seen Ezra and Yoda do it, and we’ve seen Rey and Kylo do it. But to actually *physically* go there, in person, is a specific, dedicated process. Requiring a door, and conscious choice. That’s what Filoni himself set up with Ezra in the third to last episode of Rebels. That’s why even Palpatine couldn’t physically reach Ezra and Ahsoka (who was only physically present in the WBW then because Ezra physically pulled her in there) and had to fight them via proxy with sith sorcery, that blue flame. 2. We know the WBW is a different plane of existence. Again, characters can commune with one another through it, but if you’re *physically* there, you’re cut off from the normal plane of existence excepting the very specific windows into previous events in your own experience (which, again, are shown through windows - not falling through clouds physically down into the memories as reenactors who retain all your own memories and experiences, the way young Ahsoka did in Ep 5). So if Ahsoka HAD been *physically* in the WBW, Jacen would not have been able to hear her force machinations. 3. Covering the “why didn’t any of the ship scanners pick her up then?” thing: These are starships, not ocean vessels. They’re not equipped with sonar, they’re equipped with radar and other scanners. Ahsoka was *under* water. There’s a very specific reason chopper - who was only able to get a faint ping himself - wanted Hera and the ghost to get as low as possible. They were showing us that Ahsoka WAS there, physically underwater, the whole time, the sensors just couldn’t properly pick her up because she was under water. I think there’s a fun debate to be had about whether it was REALLY Anakin visiting her in her mind or if it was all her subconscious (I think it was obviously her subconscious, but there’s at least a fun debate to be had) but there is absolutely no real debate possible about the ironclad fact that Ahsoka never physically left the waters of Seatos during her force vision trials. Not based on everything we know about the WBW, anyway.

I like to think this is all real, even if I think it is also a Vision Quest. It is really Anakin, who is there to help Ahsoka and teach her. The Force knew Ahsoka needs help to move on, so who else would the Force send, but her Master, who she needs to come to terms with?

I did not fact check this, but the part when you talk about tales of the jedi, I understood what you said as it was the same day Ahsoka was born that she was taken hunting with her mother, but I belive that was about a year after her birth, as the shaman woman said something to the affect of has it been a year already, which is a pedantic correction as I completely agree with your deeper understanding of Ahsoka and her respect for life. Although I might add it may not be "all life", but rather she respects that which also respects life, as she's rather quick to cut down an inquisitor/imp loyalist/slaver if given the opportunity. Also I cant stand the reachiness of new rockstars sometimes, and I find eric voss much more digestible with your commentary attached.

You can't blame Anakin for killing Count Dooku he said ''I shouldn't'' but had Palpatine in the back of his head saying ''do it'' Anakin also said ''I shouldn't have done that it's not the Jedi way'' knowing what he did was wrong also Mace Windu saying "If you are correct you will have earned my trust" which broke Anakin know that the Jedi never trusted him from the beginning although he would give his life for the Jedi so he decide to do what he thought was right and try save his wife saying "Just help me save Padme’s life. I can’t live without her" So I blame the Jedi not Obi wan or Ahsoka but the Jedi for fail to believe in Anakin going against what they sworn to not become and Yoda teach Anakin to let go of his wife helped it did not

New Rockstars reeeeeach quite a bit for me. I had to stop watching because I feel all of that reaching plays into all of the theories that spread and ultimately complacent fans who have, in my opinion, just weird expectations.
