As someone who works in the legal field, I give an F to the Ennead’s court procedure. No witnesses were called, nobody inquired into the merit of the allegations regarding Ammit, and after Harrow attacked Marc’s credibility (which Marc rightly pointed out was not determinative of the truth of the claims against Harrow), the Gods just…decided to end the trial? Booooo. (Though I do wish I could, when warranted, just stand up in court and tell “He is a Deceiver!!!!”)

When Marc dropped the pieces of constellation map (idk what you called that) in the sand so that Steven will find it harder, it sends a massage that he is jealous of Steven about Layla. Steven is perfect for Layla, they have parallel interests and hobbies which is totally opposite of Marc. The way Layla looked at Steven, Marc is surely jealous seeing it haha!

This was a very good episode in my opinion. I am so fascinated by the performance of Oscar Isaac. The subtle change from Marc to Steven was so amazing!!! Now I am really curious what Konshus angle is. He sounded quite sad sometimes but at the same time I think Harrow wasn't lying about Konshu being some sort of torture. I had to laugh so hard when Konshu was overdramaticly yelling while in Marcs body. Poor Marc. 😂 And I can see why Konshu wants Layla as his avatar. She kicks ass

It's a really nice note that when Harrow's at the trial, whichever of the gods had a business suit on said, "he has committed no offense." Harrow got off because of the same flaw in the system that Khonsu is trying to defend: punishment must come after the crime. In a sense, by convincing the gods to let him go, Arthur is proving Ammit's point: that justice based solely on consequences for committed offense is fundamentally wrong.

hasn't harrow already hurt people though? he literally walks into the chamber with ammit's "gift" as his walking cane that he also uses to kill the people who don't pass her judgement. the gods just don't seem that interested into investigating the matter and took everything that harrow said at face value because of their bias against khonshu (and i think khonshu actually only worsened said bias with the signal he sent to call for the ennead meeting) and harrow's impressive manipulation skills

After watching this episode, I see a lot of parallels to Falcon and Winter Soldier. Harrows cult and Flag Smashers being global. Layla mentioning being knowledgeable in antiquities and Bek talking to Layla about after Madripoor….perhaps there was a run in with the Power Broker Sharon Carter? Plus not to mention how similar the judgement of Ammit and Project Insight from the Winter Soldier movie. Wouldn’t be surprised to see anyone from those projects show up in this show.

OK so remember the panther god in black panther bast is based on the Egyptian god and we’ve had mentioned to this connects the black panther in that way. Bast is based on real life mythology Bastet. Bastet was given the heart of ra. Funny enough wakanda had a heart shaped herb. Marc is Khonshu avatar so in a way since the black panther got his power from bast is he like her avatar. The asgardians are gods and we have seen a transfer of power from thor to steve Rogers however it be by a Thor’s hammer. THat brings me to relics of dr strange where they use weapons of higher beings to channel energy and power. Also a lot of this is based on Egyptian mythology which is In Africa another obvious connection to panther. Bastet is a direct child of ra and also his protector

Dormammu is a god in Marvel, so his Kaecilius was kinda his Avatar. In the museum, Marc mentioned two gods missing. That were Bastet and Anubis. Anubis could make a good villain for a second season of Moon Knight, even though I am tired of the trope, that the god of death is the bad guy. Liked it more how the Olympus books handelt it. The north gods are just very powerful aliens, that was confirmed by Odin. But we will probably see the greek gods in Thor 4. In Black Panther 2 Shuri could speak to Bast maybe, since she will be the next Black Panther.

@Omn1Media, 8:59 I think it was that easy for Arthur because Khonshu was banished and the fact that they know Khonshu abused Arthur previously. This is probably why Arthur said that their case against Arthur needed to be airtight before Marc walked through the portal...but that certainly wasn't airtight. Khonshu and Marc are at odds. March and Steven are at odds. Steven is at odds with Khonshu. Had the three of them been on the same page, acting as one, they might have been convincing. At the very least, Steven could have told them about Arthur's abilities and cult since those are things that he witnessed, not Marc. He also would have been able to speak about Ammit's cane, which was absent during the trial for obvious reasons, lol. Arthur knew Khonshu had an uphill battle and all he had to do was be calm and change the subject, and that's exactly what he did. Had Khonshu not been a jerk years ago, his brethren might have listened to him a bit more. Personally, I think he's lucky Marc was there, as he likely wasn't turned to stone this time around because Marc sided with him and didn't sound like someone under duress. Still, Khonshu's treading on very thin ice and was warned accordingly. 17:33 I think this is an indication that the person who saved Steven in the first episode might have been Jake and not Marc. Jake's a pure savage it would seem, that isn't Marc's M.O.. Jake is probably the one responsible for Layla's father's death too. 17:47 EXACTLY! 18:17 Apparently, DID starts in childhood. Steven might be an identity Marc had long ago and had control of until he was in the throws of death. His mind breaking down as he edged closer to death likely broke his mental barriers, giving Steven more reign. I wonder if his union with Khonshu birthed Jake. Marc spoke to Steven as though it could have only been him that killed those people. Did Marc speak of Steven because he's the only other persona or because he's the only that's resurfaced? Next week's story should be interesting, as I think we're going to have a Jake centric story. Bad or not, Jake is probably going to be the one to get them over the finish line. Without Khonshu's armor, they're going to need a savage, and that's Jake.

So, in the Comics, Mark has 5 Alternate Personalities. #1 - Marc Spector #2 - Steven Grant #3 - Jake Locley #4 - Mr Knight #5 - Moon Knight In the Comics, Mr and Moon Knight are Seperate Personalities. Whereas in the Show, it seems that Moon Knight is just Marc's Alter Ego; and Mr Knight is just Steven's Alter Ego. We are yet to see Jake Locley, but seeing as Conshu doesn't say who killed those guys in 5:40, I'd say this is one of our first hints at Jake Locley showing up later in the Season.

It seems that Yatzil, the Avatar of Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of Music and Love, and possibly, Hathor herself, were sympathetic towards both Khonshu and Marc 🥺😣😔, that's why she helped give Marc the clue about Senfu's sarcophagus 🤔. Yatzil even mentioned that Khonshu used to enjoy Hathor's melodies. Possibly romantic feelings between the two deities 🤭🥰😉😁?

I think it was the 3rd that got in the taxi. In ep 3 the blackouts had to all be the personality we haven't seen, since now we see when both Stephen and Marc have the body (unlike before when we time skipped from Stevens pov when Marc took over). It's really cool how the protagonist we're following at any given time is whoever has the body. Marc and steven going from supporting character to main and vice versa from scene to scene is so fun and different. W/o the subtle name drops and marvel opening credits this show would be great as it's own thing too. Really enjoying it.

I like Khonshu. I hope Marc saves him. #FreeKhonshu The "court scene" is just to show that even the gods dismiss the words of someone with a mental disorder. Harrow played that angle being super ableist and speaking softly. Just because someone seems composed doesn't mean you should trust their word. But the gods did. I felt so sorry for Marc and Khonshu in that scene, they're both alone, no one listens to them even when they're trying to do the right thing. There's a 3rd alter, woohoo! Jake is here! Episode 3 Immediate thoughts… First…RIP to Gaspard Ulliel (actor who portrayed Mogart). He passed away this Jan before this show could air. Second…did anyone catch that reference to Madripoor? That’s the first tie into the other aspects of the MCU we’ve gotten in this show. Sharon was “off the grid in Madripoor”. And from my recollection a lot of shady, black market transactions happen in that city/country. So it fits with the Layla reference. There’s definitely a 3rd personality that neither Marc nor Steven know about. And based on that fact several things are in question. Is Marc the one who killed those people and saved Steven when he woke up in the Alps? Or was it the 3rd alter? The “police” said Marc was part of team that killed an archaeologist with a shot to the back of the head. But was that really the 3rd alter? Was it the 3rd alter who asked that lady out on a date in episode 1 for Steven? It seems like Khonshu isn’t aware of the 3rd alter. Maybe he thinks Marc is the one doing all the killing and it really isn’t him. I thought the hearing/trial scenes were meh. First…why was Khonshu yelling everything? Second…clearly he’s no lawyer cause that was the worse pleading of a case I’ve ever heard. He was entirely unprepared. He had no proof whatsoever. Harrow showed up, told some lies and painted Marc in the worst light ever. It was clear the other Gods are indifferent and totally unaware of what Harrow is doing. And why? Because people aren’t worshipping them the way they used to? Khonshu at least still cares enough about humanity to try and stop Harrow. Also...Marc was basically discredited because he has an illness. Isn't that quite a comment current society. Liked seeing the flip of Khonshu needing Steven’s help at the end. He’s basically had no use for him up til now. On the other hand….Khonshu was also like, “feck them tides.” Lemme revert this night sky back about 2000 years. LOL! Now that Khonshu has been imprisoned…seems like a side quest is in order to free him before Marc/Steven can summon Moon Knight/Mr Knight again and eventually stop Harrow. I can’t quite figure out what Harrow’s beef is with Khonshu. There’s definitely more going on than Khonshu punishing evil-doers too late. It’s more personal for Harrow. I may be back later with more thoughts later but this is what I have for now.

John Campea had the same reaction to the court scene. And I don’t disagree. I saw the proceedings as just a formality (or political theatre). Think back to the kid in the neighborhood that non of the other kids liked because he was weird. You have to be nice to him because your parents said so. The kid was never going to get a fair chance - but you still have to be nice to him when everyone is around and watching.

People don't seem to get it. Ammit's deal was that she would even judge sinners before they carry out their evil act, which is different from the others. Going by that logic and putting aside the fact that they said they aren't interested in interfering with mankind, obviously the other gods aren't going to just take Khonshu at his word (especially since it's Khonshu's words) and punish Harold for resurrecting Ammit before he even do it.

As much as I enjoyed Oscar's performance as speaker for Khonshu in the court scene, Khonshu's attitute didn't really mesh well with the rest of his appearances in this episode for me. I mean we were shown earlier he can be petty and impulsive, but in this one he went from calculating an calm to crazy and back real fast. I hope there's more to it than writers wanting to introduce the council of gods but needing it to not go our protagonists' way, but in the moment, it did feel forced to me. (Also, these gods need to chill about being exposed, this world has seen much crazier things than Khonshu's beautiful skyshows :D) Other than the court scene not clicking for me, I loved the episode. I feel like the opeining with Layla deserves more attention, it was nicely done. Great reaction too, Omni, I maybe speak up rarely here in the comments, but I appreciate your reactions and thoughts, always a good time! :)

It made sense to me, imagine being banished for thousands of years and then not being listened to when you tell them that a big bad is being released, thats a lot of tapped up anger he’s being holding towards the others, i think you’re overthinking it

@@n0body550 His anger does make sense. What didn't work for me was progression of his attitude, or rather the lack of it. He went from calm "this is a bad idea" and "our case must be indisputable" to insulting manchild fast and with neither steps between nor a sign that he snapped. Add not telling Marc what will happen in there and it looked like he wanted to lose this case.

@@xBenjiSx The woman also told him to let konshu speak through hin naturally and marc wasn’t allowing that so i feel that played into it. Once again it’s a tv show that in some cases you have to have an extra bit of suspension of disbelief, or infer those characters would act such a way, but for me it makes sense, i sorry you haven’t been banished for thousands of years before for your beliefs and actions

Honestly, and please don't roast me for this, but this was a lackluster episode. Don't get me wrong, I'm still digging the show so far. It's just that, outside of a couple of things, nothing really major happened. It was nice to see Gaspard Ulliel in his final role here (I guess he's Midnight Man, because he's a "collector" of fine arts like the comics). Sucks that, in my opinion, he was wasted in this episode (Now, apparently, his IMDB lists him appearing in Episodes 3-6. So, he might come back later on). Also, I get why Marc is emotionally distancing himself from Layla for her protection, but come on now. Now, Layla and Steven (which I am officially dubbing "Stayla")? I adore them greatly. I hope next week's episode is better. Apparently, some crazy thing happens next week. Fingers crossed I enjoy it next week.

Were I the only one or does it feel like Layla is falling for Steven? I mean, understandable. Marc is an a**hole and Steven is actually sweet, but big f if your other personality steals your wife and you can just watch from the mirror while he is doing her.

Steven annoyed the crap out of me this episode it's like, man I understand you're a pacifist but there's a time and place dude. And the middle of an active fight is not the time nor the place

The part with the Egyptian gods made no sense. Why didn't Mark bring up the scarab and a whole village and enclave in London. Worst writing in the series so far.

yep , i felt the council made no sense , they are gods but seems to be oblivious to the shit going around . maybe some gods want to release ammit , that osiris avatar

@@elmor5992 Also Konshu seems mentally challenged during that part. So he does something that he knows will get the gods attention but doesn't have his story straight beforehand? I think these are really just a bunch of leftover Goa'uld.

I interpret it as the avatars not being able to speak up unless directly addressed, and by the time Marc was able to speak up he had to defend himself. Also, Harrow could easily argue that the London group isn’t a cult but a new way of living. The gods would see the positives of that community and not see anything wrong despite what we know to be true. ETA: Also Marc was clearly struggling to voice Konshu. Hathor’s avatar told him to let Konshu speak through him naturally, to not fight it. But Marc has been fighting for control of his body for his whole life, so even letting Konshu speak through him is a struggle.
