The Higgins’ are married in real life which makes their relationship all the sweeter to me.
@janahall729510 ай бұрын
"To the family we're born with and the family we make along the way." Higgins' speech at dinner always gets to me. Him being able to recall the home city of every player present is such nice attention to detail. It's so amazing that the team and the environment at Richmond FC has evolved in such a way that the players wanted to spend it with their director of football operations. Like others have said, this was a bonus episode and did nothing to add to any ongoing storyline, but I see it as one of the best episodes of the entire series.

One of my absolute favorite things about this show is just how good Roy really is with kids. Phoebe, obviously. But then the kid when they're talking about how they poop their paints. "If you can do it, I can do it." I adore that.

This was a bonus episode. They had already written the complete season and Apple requested 2 more episode. So they did this Christmas episode and one more later in the season. You will know that one when you watch it 😁

If you're impressed with Hannah Waddingham's voice (and who wouldn't be?), I'd highly recommend her Christmas Special from this past year. I don't give a toss about X-Mas and I generally despise the music but it's an amazing show and she is a Goddess of Song.🤩😍

Aaahh such a heartwarming episode. Moving to a different country is soo difficult, I did it to go to college but fortunately I was always able to go back home for the holidays. I can only imagine how hard it must be to spend the holidays away from home and your loved ones, and I'm so glad Higgins was able to give all the players a cheerful, cozy, heartwarming christmas away from home. And even for Ted, a part from being far from home he's going through a divorce, so I'm really glad Rebecca made sure he wasn't alone and depressed during christmas

Boxing Day, the day after Christmas Day, is one of the biggest days in the football calendar, so players will be close to home base (or traveling to an away stadium). The thing with Phoebe and the message cards is a shout-out to Love Actually. Looks like your December watch list is growing fast!

I'm a football fan and follow the Premier League (Liverpool supporter), pay attention to La Liga and the Bundesliga, and follow the USMNT. I didn't watch this show just because it's about football or features football at times and this episode pretty much had nothing to do with the game of football and it's possibly my favourite episode (at least in the top 3) because of all the interaction between characters that further develops their arcs as people. It's fun and mostly lighthearted, though as with most of the episodes of this show there's usually someone that has an issue they need to overcome, often with the help of another character/s. In this case it's Rebecca helping Ted on his first Xmas being alone. Love how the whole team comes together at the Family Higgins to make for a big festive occasion and they're relaxing, having fun, and bonding. Though, they shouldn't be getting drunk as Boxing Day is a big day of football matches across England. Great to see you continue with this show and that you're digging it just as I and many others have. And as others have said, if you haven't seen It's A Wonderful Life yet then you need to check it out. Just a classic film.

You might not have seen It's A Wonderful Life, I haven't either, but there are so many TV shows that have an episode that is an homage to that movie. The basic plot is a main character has something terrible go so wrong that they try to unalive themselves. An angel intervenes and shows them what the world would be like if they had never been born. In the end the main character learns that their life has value.

If ; Angel, Arrow, Buffy, Fringe, Friends, The Fresh Prince, The Simpsons, Supernatural, Married With Children, the Big Bang theory, Mork & mindy, Family Matters, That 70's Show, and so many others have episodes dedicated to this movie is it really a spoiler? The plot of that movie has been reused so often in modern media that it's more of a trope. Now the interesting bit is how people choose to use that trope. because we already know how the story is supposed to end.
@ChicagoDB10 ай бұрын
@@kateflanagan9355 there are few “original plots/stories”…if you essentially tell someone what it is, there is little reason to ever bother to actually watch. Given there are numerous people encouraging him to watch it…and he himself curious about it…it’s poor form to lay out the story before him. Do you read novels after getting a synopsis first??
