Omni Man Vs. Bardock Review! (DEATH BATTLE)

I want to like this episode, I like omni as a character, the music is great, and the animation is cool. But I dont care for the matchup (pink diamond vs. Nolan clears). The animation is as awesome and well animated as it feels repetitive. Bardock speed blitzes and gets the upper hand, Nolan swats him, rinse and repeat. And finally, their argument for Nolan winning genuinely doesn't make sense, The story makes clear that the destruction of planet viltrum was a gamble and could've easily resulted in Nolan, Mark, and Thadus splatering themselves against the planet. Yet somehow, according to death battle, they can all also no sell a dwarf star destorying lazer. I still enjoy the episode, but that argument gives me a headache

@Kleebo yeah, the logic is such a weird part of the episode. But I do like both analysis and how they cover the characters as well as like you said, the animation is pretty good even though it doesn't live up to the last two battles animated by devilartemis. That's why, for me, I rated it just a little above average.

Entertaining video. I like the concept of grading DB's videos. Though, they only had to answer one question and they're completely wrong so, I think the grade should be F-. In addition. Been watching BD since it's creation. Everyone that has knows how this was going to turn out. The theory is they're wrong on purpose to drive engagement. They usually use DBZ as a preverbal sacrifice when they're low views.

Thank you for the compliment. I don't base any of my actual rankings on the conclusion, as long as their arguments make sense, which it kinda doesn't lol. That being said little to no value i get from the show is the actual verdict. There's still a lot to love even if the verdict is wrong. And on that last part, I highly doubt it. They seem to really think that omni man wins this, and all power to them. It's very easy to argue someone is in bad faith when it's just as feasible that they're just plain wrong. Plus I don't think they'd makwinnermore obvious winner lose for one reason. Sure that might drive engagement, although I'd argue that bardock winning would have made the episode more popular. The problem is the basis of the show is based on who would actually win a fight with research. If they started just makiwinsomeone win for the he'll of it, than I doubt a lot of people would trust their word and keep watching them. It might help 1 episode but hurt the rest in a sense. I've also been with the show since it came out (i was 13 at the time) and they do genuinely seem like they try to be in good faith as much as possible. Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to say my thoughts lol.

Death Battle’s been more about the entertainment than the actual verdict. If you think an episode sucks just because the verdict is wrong, then you’re missing out on tons of great episodes like Bill vs Discord or Raiden vs Wolverine. Simply put, the outcome doesn’t mean anything to the episodes overall value. Plus, you’re probably just saying that because Bardock lost. If that’s your reason, get over it. There’s so many more death battles that are worse than this one, correct or not.

@@geralddawizard767 I’m not lying to myself. I believe that the verdict was wrong. I don’t need to be a dragon ball fan to know when a dragon ball character should’ve won or lost. I’m just saying, basing your entire opinion on an episode based on the verdict is very flawed logic that prevents you from enjoying good episodes.

​@@plimepf9493 I appreciate your reply. First I'd like to apologize as certain aspects of my comment were misleading and I did not do an overly good job of expressing what I meant. I didn't mean that the entire video 'grade' should be based off of the outcome, or the accuracy of such. The joke I was attempting to make is that, on a one question test, despite showing your work, if you're wrong, you're wrong. Which would generally result in an F. In addition I think that in this outcome they are pretty obviously wrong. That being said, it was a very entertaining and well produced video generally worth a watch. However I am going to have to disagree, I think they are actively misinterpreting the comics to skew the results in Omnis favor on purpose. As they outright leave out details even in the very comic panels they use that would counter their scaling. They seem to be mainly using the comics for omni which is probably much better for omni. It matters a lot less who wins, what matters to me is the fact that they have been doing this too long for it to be incompetence. They know what they're doing, and this episode makes it painfully obvious. Considering the cannon info their using, doesn't even say what they claim it does even at face value. They are either intentionally being misleading, or it was not intentional. If you want to say it's not on purpose I won't begrudge you that. I don't think that's necessarily a argument without merit. However I do very much err on the side of they know what they're doing. It also may, or may not go without saying that this is their first video after a long while and I believe crowd funding. So if there ever was a time to be 'controversial', it would be with their return video. Case and point. This video would not have gotten as many comments if I had just said "Hey good vid". Exposure is what makes things popular. Getting people to talk about your video. The best way to do that is to, in short, be controversial. Which is easiest by making people angry. Or simply being wrong. Being wrong on purpose is a pretty tested way to get attention. This is pretty well documented. As far as being controversial being more beneficial for exposure than simply being grounded and reasonable, with all due possible respect isn't really up for debate. There are entire case studies done about this. Mainstream news media know this and have utilized this for decades.

This episode was good but there were a few problems in the fight, mainly Omni-man scaling and I wished they used some of the cut stuff from the storyboard but this was a mid 9/10 for me or A- in your terms of quality.

It is a good episode, I'm glad you liked it a lot. The cut content is a real shame, but the animation was still really good. Devilartemis Is a fantastic animator, so I'm sure there are reasons those scenes got cut. I just know this isn't the best we'll see from him in this coming year. I'm hyped for Kratos vs. Asura!

@tylernaze8020 i thought it was good, probably better than omnidock. The fight was cool and the reasoning was sound. I'll have a reaction up tomorrow, but I'm going to try and get a review done by next Tuesday
