It has become the norm with the MTA when it comes to delays to almost everything they do. To see them try to speed up the process is nice, but i hope they don't have any more delays

This is good to see that NYC's getting a full rollout of the OMNY system; it reminds me of PRESTO here in Toronto and Southern Ontario.

I’m glad MTA has decided to step in to make these changes to get things moving faster after the constant delays. It’s just unfortunate that OMNY wasn’t going to fully come with the commuter rails to synchronize with the full system like they’ve been advertising that for years

the only thing that concerns me is buses having all door boarding will have numerous fare evaders but hopefully they have more ticket inspectors per stop so in theory people can just deboard the bus and tap their card to prove their payment before reboarding the bus
@brooklynnavyvet95432 ай бұрын
I'm one of the people testing the OMNY card for Access-A-Ride. It started out fine and we got a lot of support.....AT FIRST. Now, there's issues with OMNY consistently paying the AAR fare. Sometimes I'll book a ride and O\MNY prepays ($0.00 due after I book), most of the time it doesn't ($2.90 due after I book). Most disappointing is NO ONE RESPONDS TO EMAILS and when you call, no one can explain why it happens. I'm not the only person testing this out that's having this issue. AS USUAL, THE DISABLED ARE TREATED LIKE 2ND CLASS CITIZENS.

Was just in NYC on Monday for the first time in a few years. Was pleasently surprised with how convenient the tap on was, but ill be damned it blows my mind there is no discussion on fare capping like Numerous other systems all over the world. A daily "fun pass" used to be a thing. Not sure why it was done away with. Supposedly OMMY does have a fair cap built in per the website. I don't know how it manifests in practice though.

I like the payment methods. It isn't just with a card but with a cellular device as well. Furthermore, you can get updated on your balance. It's definitely a step up from where we were in our metro paying evolution. One thing I'll note is that if you are going with this method, you should probably have it where we are paying the same amount of money for the subway and bus as we are paying right now with the metrocard. It's a little suggestion I have for the payment. Make it that way for a short while until the new year comes in and then have us pay the regular amount of $34.00

Why is New York taking so long with the OMNY machines and I still can’t keep track of my trips whenever I use the express bus! They really need to move a little quicker since the Metrocards are gonna go extinct by the end of the year and add OMNY on the LIRR and MNRR as soon as possible, why wait another 2 years. Thx Adams and Hochul for the delays and running being schedule. Also PATH should also use TAPP prepaid cards for people who don’t have a debit or credit card. I don’t so I would use a Metrocard. Thx for this video and keep posting more of OMNY

I don't mind the news section. For the Bronx bus redesigned I prefer having the Bx5 & 5A (Local & LTD service) then having the Bx6 SBS being rerouted. The Bx5A operating from The Hub to Pelham Bay Park/Bay Plaza.
@TheRailLeaguer7 ай бұрын
Bx6 SBS ridership to Hunts Point has not materialized so rerouting the SBS to cross the Bronx River would be more beneficial.
@MarkBustos27 ай бұрын
@@TheRailLeaguer Yeah I understand. At that point maybe the MTA should've done Bx6/6A Local & SBS.

@@TheRailLeaguer I'm going a little bit off topic but the MTA could rebuild the viaducts for some elevated lines from there make them 4 tracks as well as stop consolidation especially in the Bronx
@TheRailLeaguer7 ай бұрын
@@MarkBustos2 That might have also been unfeasible too. Quite honestly Hunts Point ridership hasn't materialized even after SBS was introduced on the route in 2017. Most folks from there are already off the bus at the Intervale Avenue station. By contrast, the core section of the Bx5 route to White Plains Road is a bit of a hike from nearest subway stations. Having the Bx6 SBS come down there instead of going to Hunts Point would allow for the SBS to truly stretch its legs and improve crosstown travel between both sides of the Bronx River.
@CR1Creative7 ай бұрын
@@TheRailLeaguer Speaking of which is it possible to rebuild White Plains and Pelham to have 4 tracks as well as stop consolidating on both lines speeding up service I know that I'm going off topic but I wonder if rebuilding the viaducts is possible.
