I used gilbert's modloader and FalsePattern's OMORI decryptor to make a mod so I more easily could showcase the remaining emotions. Keep in mind most of these are inaccessible non-modded, so the lack of certain emotions probably means nothing!

Your emotion in dreams intensify for at most triple. Even if you are an unemotional gray rock irl you can still have the feeling you had when you are dreaming, although it is temporary after waking up but you can tell what you would feel at that state. This is your brain's way of doing first aid on your emotional needs. Whether trauma or joy. In Sunny's case he can only feel basic emotions except happiness because he's a shut in, he feels more in dreams more than reality. Edit: My case has been solidified that Sunny not being able to be happy makes my heart ache.

People with severe depression to the point of being despaired often don't show much expressions but their emotions run wild inside their imagination. In omori's head you can tell that his ecstastic is him fantasizing, and manic is just being obsessed with some fetish (sexual or not as it shows in his delusional fantasies about aubrey having a crush on him), enraged shows deep hatred and furious is outright with intents of murder (which also shows in black space, depressed and miserable are just the varying degrees of guilt he suffers (disregarding of blaming sunny for it or just feeling powerless as himself that he has limited choices in how to cope with it as Sunny's alter ego).

That's very interesting... In dream world, Omori has one state of emotion more than others. But in the real world, he has close to none. Just sad and angry. As for the others... Angry Aubrey is the same as regular Aubrey and that's concerning. And when she's enraged, she looks full of hatred. Hero bottles his rage even more than in dream world, which could mean that he's afraid of being angry after what he said to Kel the only time he was really angry. Kel seems to be annoyed at best. But not because he bottles his emotions like Hero does. It's because, just like Aubrey stated, he's simple. He's not the kind of guy to get really angry. Although it could be interpreted in a different way. Cause Kel did that face before, when he was annoyed by Aubrey. It means that, even though he looked annoyed, he was actually enraged, which is kind of scary when you think about it... When it comes to sadness... Aubrey is the only one who looks genuinely depressed. And even her seems to be holding back the best she can. The others don't cry. It's like they repress it, even Kel. Like they're repressing their trauma in a way, because it's too painful. As for happiness... The fact that these poor beans only have one state of joy and Sunny doesn't have any make me really sad. Aubrey seems genuinely happy, even if she's trying to hold back, which is probably due to the fact she doesn't want to show weakness. She's been harboring that tough girl act as a way of protecting herself from being hurt. So it makes sense that her pride is holding her back a bit. As for Kel... He looks like he just ate a chocolate bar and is now in bliss XD I don't know, I'm not sure I understand how to interpret it. As for Hero... Maybe it's just me, but... I feel like he's forcing that smile. Like it's not completely genuine. But I'm not sure... Now fear... Is pretty funny. Firstly, because of Hero's face. Why does it look like Pluto's ? XD Secondly, because of Kel's face. How are we suppose to read this cartoony expression ? XD Aubrey and Sunny are the only ones who look really scared. But the both of them don't completely express it the same way. Aubrey seems a bit angry, which is fitting since she uses her anger as a way to protect herself, so she'd probably protect herself from her fear with anger too. Sunny though... He looks completely paralyzed by fear. He's succumbed to it completely. He's not just afraid, he's terrified. Yeah there is no much difference between neutral and angry Aubrey other that she furrows her eyebrows a little when angry, her afraid animation also seems a lot like enraged other than that she seems to be the most expressive out of the 4 Kel does have difference between angry and enraged and a very little difference sad and depressed but they are very subtle and don’t look that extreme, same with Hero between sad and depressed , there is barely a difference. Sunny can feel only 1-tier emotions and cannot feel happy, but is very interesting how his angry emotion looks a little bit extreme from the get go making him look as if he was already enraged even though he is just “angry”

Can we talk about how Hero and Kel look the same at depressed state? It shows their current personality. They may be different, but theyre still brothers, and theyre not alright. Theyre still hiding their true emotions, as Hero not trying to be too emotional, and Kel not trying to be sad or show his negative emotions. They may look better than Sunny or Basil, but they also need therapy alongside with Aubrey. Most of us dont know what Kel went through, of course he misses Mari, and Im sure the scene with Hero made an influence to his mental health And not to forget Hero being shutdown for a year, and scaring Kel when he opened his feelings. God, maybe Im too emotional, but I really think theyre hiding many feelings beneath their smiles

At 1:10 you can see that Hero's scared expression is black and white. I remember this happening to Hero as well in the Dorithi fight and Pyrefly forest. I think this is a coloring mistake because Aubrey and Kel's expressions still retain their purple palette when scared.

While I do think that most of them are interesting, to be honest I'm pretty sure that Hero's color is an error due to how out of place it looks. But it does make me wonder... you'd think that the team would have caught an easy mistake like that, especially since his fear of spiders is a reoccurring mechanic that happens a lot in pyrefly forest. They probably would have seen his scared animation frequently, but I guess they either did not notice anything wrong, or maybe it was intentional. There is probably no way to know for sure without asking the dev team.

Omori is short for "hikikomori" which means recluse. Hermit. Emotionless. Yet between all four in the dream world, Omori is the only one to have a stage three in the main emotions (Miserable, furious, and manic). His emotions are intense in the last stage, which shows his mental state and how far his psychosis become. Sunny is the opposite of omori, obviously meaning a generally happy, go-lucky type of person. Yet he only has one stage for his emotions. The only one with barely any emotions (or at least barely shows it). This shows how his depression and anxiety (plus possibly many other mental illnesses) has developed for him. Details man, details.

That's interesting. Omori can hold all emotions 3 times. Sad, depressed, miserable. Happy, ecstatic, manic. Angry, enraged, furious. But he can't feel afraid. Sunny on the other hand, can only hold one charge of emotion and he can't be happy..

Note: We can see how being a shut out has affected sunny when he is angry, in the dreamworld not even his enraged emotion compares to his face here, hes easy to anger since he hasnt been around many people, we can also note that he has the least amount of health of all the party members, maybe signifying that his actual, physical health isnt good either. we can maybe talk about how in dreamworld kels enraged face is much more extreme than in here, so this could relate to how sunny maybe has never seen kel mad. The sad emotions are INCREDIBALY similiar to the dreamworlds version, so sunny has seen all of them sad at one point, so the theory is, sunny cant be enraged due to actually being enraged already when mad,now him not being able to be depressed is kind of odd, but maybe its because he gave omori those emotions, since sunny never expected to meet his friends again he thought omori would need them more than he would. The happiness thing is obvious, however i could go a little bit more into depth, we can see that sunny only met his friends through mari, and since he err, stopped her breathing, he feels like he was ungrateful for those friends and thought he didnt deserve them, so thats maybe another reason he didnt go to his friends for help. Well thats it folks

Kel said he missed Mari, but I think he uses positivity so the pain doesn't weigh on him that much. (This information is based on my knowledge of what other Omori fans said, so it could be accurate or not).
