After every adventure I had, I would always make my way to Basil's house, watering his plants and making sure his flowers were in top shape. When I went into his house for one of the last times, before the whole house sunk and dragged me into black space, I cried. It looks so bad and it tied in with everyone forgetting him. It was as if because our friends were forgetting about him, that his house was being forgotten too. I cried for a long time when Stranger showed up and I had noticed that all of the flowers were dead. I tried to water them but I couldn't and it seriously broke my heart. I think that part scarred me. I took such good care for those flowers, but because Basil thought I abandoned him, his flowers died because of it. Because he thought that Sunny had left him.

@@Fasteroid (Edit: I should probably spoiler warning this.) Sadly, you can't save them. There's no way to fully save Basil's flowers. Story-wise though, it makes sense. Omori tries so hard to remove Basil that he lets the flowers die, in a way his memories. Even if you water them every day, Omori won't let go easily; he'll try his hardest to have you forget. _Honestly though, that's still depressing, especially since Sunny and Basil were good friends._

I do hope that Omori is gonna last, it should hopefully have traumatized itself into our hearts, as weird as it sounds, if you know what I mean? I certainly am never gonna forget this masterpiece and how it has broken my poor heart. ;-; But if popular streamers/let's players upload let's plays of Omori, like Merg did (haven't checked anyone else, first saw it from a single stream of PointCrow then discovered Merg did the entire game), then certainly it will reach out to many people, touch a lot of hearts and will make itself hard to forget, right? Like, Undertale probably became so popular as it is today because it reached out to popular content creators who did playthroughs which in turn reached out to millions of people, which ensured it would not be forgotten. So if more popular content creators play and upload videos of Omori, certainly it should not be forgotten either? Even if there are not as many hidden secrets and untold story in Omori as there are in Undertale...

i do certainly understand what you could mean in some way, but after reading this I can understand why I like this theme. The sense of being lost always gives me many senses. Free, adventurous curiosity. I have been forced to stay inside my entire life so it is always a wonderful time wandering of into the woods to see what random encounters with nature I might face.

Edit: I have finished OMORI I believe 2 weeks ago, sorry I never got to write my initial thoughts. What a beautiful game, and such a good OST as well, some of the songs really touched me. But this one, will always have a special place in my heart... I don't know why, it's just, beautiful... melancholic even.. I am listening to this at my schooldorm, after I moved out. It's the first night, the future is uncertain, and I am not that optimistic. But this song atleast reassures me that no matter what, I will always be able to cherish the past, while marching towards the unknown future...

The music box bit is what makes this track my top favorite in the whole game. It's simple and not as flashy or catchy as my other favorites, but the emotional affect just hits you so hard. Even though I get the feeling that this *should* sound like a calm cheery piece - maybe something that would play in the background of little children playing together - it just feels deeper than that. I've seen others describe it as melancholic; I do get that sense, but this is also a track that'll make me just sit and feel a heaviness in my chest for some reason, I think one that leans towards existential pondering and introspection? Like I said - a simple and subtle track, but one that somehow has such a heavy impact on the listener. It was like it was designed to do this, even. Given the themes of the game and what Headspace means to Sunny, it really is fitting for Vast Forest (the area that seems to be the home for most of Sunny's imaginary friends/ Headspace counterparts to his neighbors).

This music is a little sad, melancolic. Its seems calm and fantastic, but the end notes are dissonant. Even if we were just introduced to this cheerfull world, the disparition of Basil is the first pertubarting element in this perfect world where bad thigns do not exists. It's not sadness of the present, but sadness of the future; the sadness you will feel when you look back at those previous moment of innocence, the last time of carelessness before the horrific reality began to seep in.

Hmm, this is quite nice to listen to. I get an eerie feeling from this song,it's like it was written for another game,a normal rpg that would be remembered for it's cuteness and funny adventures, but we all know the truth, don't we? And I think that's what this melody represents, a false sense of security this is one of the first you hear afterall, it represents a happy world where nobody gets hurt, a world where time stoped flowing long ago, adventures never ending , conversations , laughs , the perfect world where fantasy becomes reality,where there is no differences between people...that's scary, I don't know why but thinking about it made my hair stand up, it's like that concept clashes againts the very reason of existence, but it is also compeling to think about , a world with no villains, where even the worst of the worst is at peace and can smile freely, hmm that's nice to think about.

I like Omori music, I really do, but...Whenever I listen to it, I can't help but remember the context of the game and realise that this happiness and dreamy atmosphere is all fake and is nothing but a mere coping mechanism to deal with a tragic loss.
