I really don’t like the comparison to DDLC or UNDERTALE since those games heavily rely on a creepiness or mystery factor coming from fourth wall breaks and meta details. Omori follows a somewhat linear story with no real facade instead more of an exploration of someone’s head space with story elements on the outside which effects you in both worlds.

I mean undertale has the true lab, surreal horror (flowey) boss fight and the genocide run itself is pretty creepy. However I know Undertale isn't the most creepy of games but both have you talk to fun and quirky characters and the bosses having pretty wild events. They're both inspired from Earthbound, same as Lisa and OFF though this one has a lot more Yume Nikki inspiration. Also Omori's story has another route to it so maybe not as linear... have you tried not opening the door for Kel? I don't really see ddlc here though, aside from some horror aspects

30 hours would be light, may be because I don't play many games, but I've hit 100 hours now and still havent seen everything, and only at 76% of achievements. Still with the extras in the hikkiomori route I think anyone would have hard time seeing everything. Needless to say, 20 dollars is a steal for this game.

my friends and i played this game together. one had the game while we watched and tried helping him put the pieces together. i kid you not, when the ending happened, we all cried. it really made us appreciate our friendship more. honestly a great game. it's not for everyone though.

I don't think the fact that it is a horror game is hidden like Doki Doki. In fact, it's out right one of it's selling point. What caught me off guard is how good they made me feel about meeting your friends, they genuinely feel like old friends. That absoloutely blew me away.

Meh, I see a lotta people saying Doki Doki aint a fair comparison, I think otherwise, thats just my opinion Of course there will be better comparisons out there but the game still tackles similar things to doki doki, its just far more heartfelt and tragic than doki doki because obviously doki doki was more based in shock but that still doesnt make it a bad comparison, it just makes it not a perfect one at that. Sorry for rambling, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you can disagree if you want. Just puting it out there.

i jumped on the omori bandwagon yesterday but i dont want to destroy my potato pc that cant even run minecraft and its not on switch im banking on a switch port so i can join the fandom its the only way undertale took like 3 years to port to switch so omori might take a similar path i could just watch a playthrough like ddlc so i can join the fandom without killing my potato pc but it ruins the magic i will celebrate the day omori reaches switch and get a 20 dollar nintnedo card and play through the entire game and join the fandom like i did with undertale

Both true, bad, and neutral ending. I even replayed my save file to watch the ending again. But I cant get enough of it 😔 I couldnt sleep properly for 2 days and ended up not doing anything for the rest of the day. Btw you did such a good review. Love it.
