sunflower = mostly shipped because of how basil looks so desperate to be near Sunny to an almost yandere type person, going so far as to hang his dead sister to make it look like a suicide confinced its to protect sunny. suntan = mostly shipped because it seems the most healthy ship acording to people because their in a sense polar opitistes as well, kel is energetic and loud, sunny is silent and more closed off. sunburn = in my opinion the most realistic ship and most healthy one, its heavily implied in the game that Sunny had a crush on Aubrey its even stated in memory lane when basil points it out, Aubrey clearly also cared deeply about Sunny especaily if you take the swings into aspect that they always used to talk on or atleast aubrey always vented on towards Sunny and he always listened and helped, most likely after the true ending they for sure would have a bumpy relationship for a while but they can find comfort in eachoter since aubrey also did something simular to Sunny so she would be more understanding of it as well, and if you are questioning whyi t would make sense, the game takes place in the late 19s to early 2000s, and gay relationships werent really accepted back then either and frowned opon, and from what we can see the town is also quite religious so i wouldn't be supriced if they are also slightly religious and have those views.

I believe in Suntan that it is the most healthiest, but I just seem to adore and cherish Sunburn more to be honest. It just seems more closer to Canon, since Sunny did have a crush in canon, and the swing scene.

Why does people hate straight ships nowadays? Not being a homophobic but straight ships deserves as much respect as the others. I subscribed by the way, you are the only one I can find who can support Sunburn to this level, and how underrated and canon it is compared to Sunflower and Suntan. Sunburn makes the most sense in the actual universe.

Well, In Omori it's never cannonally sated because Sunny is emotionally detached, and Omocat even said Kel has everything Sunny needs, that ship really isn't canon, but it's not a bad ship, It's clear there are some hints to it but people seem to see past shipping as canon, when Sunny is closest to Kel, I think a lot of the game is oddly placed and the relationships aren't done right

I have a hot take i feel many people wont like but i dont think Kelbrey works and i think Sunburn actually does work. ill start off why would Aubrey choose to be with someone she argues with all the time as a partner when she comes from a dysfunctional home where she grew up seeing that stress. While it is cute in some media but thats the thing its a trope and Kel kinda destroys that trope because he really doenst seem to be into Aubrey very much. While he did call her cute sure but the squiggly dialogue is always meant sarcastically in omori i dont think he meant it maliciously but i think it was more of Kel trying to be funny and compliment her and it seems calling each other cute is normal in this friend group same with mines I call many of my friends cute platonically as well. okay next sunburn isnt actually very overly straight as it seems people just ship it wrong Aubrey doesnt actually need to change or lose her personality at all thats why Sunny likes her. Sunny is very reserved most of the time and Aubrey is very strong willed but she doesnt really know how to communicate her feelings very well Sunny even says she was hard to understand She came to Sunny to talk to him about issues she was dealing with and when everyone else was busy she could always count on Sunny to make time for her similarly to why i also enjoy Sunflower i love people talking it out with each other thats what makes things work. Sunny can be seen hiding behind Aubrey in the real world tags which i always interpreted as him feeling safe around the person same way he hides behind hero but Aubrey's tags show her being rough with Hero and especially Kel but very gentle with Sunny showing she cares about him in a much different light than the rest of her friends they feel secure in each other because they compliment each other Sunny doesnt express himself much Aubrey doesnt communicate much but seeks comfort and Sunny IS that comfort. Sunny's quiet personality and him being a good listener is what makes this such a cute ship imo and why it works for me you dont have to agree but this is my personal interpretation. I dont think its as one sided as some people think and i dont think its too straight or boring because it reverses typical gender architypes fount in a lot of media which is what i find Kelbrey to be a trope which wouldnt really be enjoyable for Aubrey seeing as how she grew up.

This is my pov of why sunburn is unrated. (Also English isn't my first language so forgive me if there are many mistakes) When i first discovered Omori i was 13 years old. I remember that i had to watch the gameplay in secret bc my parents forbidden me to use social media. This happen because i came out to them and they didn't took it well and just blame it on the internet (they were raised in Easter europe, so of course they couldn't be that much woke.). So, being a gay teenager, who was forbidden to see any media with explicit queer content i was CRAVING for rappresentation. So when i saw Basil i immediately felt connect to him, because of the way he expressed himself which was against the typical gender roles. Then when i saw the way he behaved with Sunny i thought he might love him, but looking back i get why it is actually quite ambiguous and not really cute. I just assumed that their strong bond and "obsession" with each other was only related to the fact that they were best friends, and not that they covered up a murderer. So yeah at the time sunflower was my otp, and even now that i am older and get better their dinamic, i still like them. Now about Aubrey, i related a lot to her too, so I didn't ship her with anyone. I thought that her regard for Sunny was purely platonic, since when i was younger i used to be friends with mainly people with the opposite sex. Recently when i rediscover Omori i realized that i missed all the parts where it was implied that Sunny had a crush on Aubrey, but i still don't think that Aubrey's feeling can be interpreted well. But yeah, while years ago i wouldn't even considered sunburn as an option, now i get why it deserves more attention. sunflower , kelbrey and Heromari. I don't have a problem with Sunburn, it's just that Kel and Basil would be left out. I just really like seeing kel and aubrey bickering over petty things yk, it's cute, even mari said that it looks like her and hero when they were young . Also ,kel and aubrey really understand each other, evident by their comfortableness around each other. I feel like they'd still be arguing like they were kids even when they're married yk, and that's also really cute. The only person who can fully understand and sympathize with Sunny is Basil, and vice versa, they're best friends, accomplices you could say :))) . Sunflower is not popular because it's "gay" , i think even if basil was a girl , people would still be crazy over it yk. They're a pair made in heaven. Also, I don't see why you'd say SunBurn is "controversial" , most of the Omori subreddit love the ship, if anything, KelBrey is the lesser known here. But honestly, I'm happy as long as all of them are all still friends with each other even after the revelation yk, i don't need anything more. They prolly would tho. Hero'd maybe lash out at sunny , but he'd later apologize and make up with him . As for kel and aubrey too. Sorry for ranting.

the thing about Kelbrey is people often forget Aubrey came from a dysfunctional home to begin with why would she be happy arguing with someone over every little thing? Kel also doesnt seem to like her much and calls the arguing annoying and they always needed a third party being Hero to break it up Sunny would simply just communicate with Aubrey better it would be healthier in the long run because Sunny is more of a listener and Aubreys whole thing was she felt no one listened to her Kel is a great guy and I love him but Kelbrey is a disaster forming imo im also not saying Kel and Aubrey arent close either they have a lot in common actually but i am saying the arguing is Cute technically but its probably not enjoyable for Aubrey and by extension Kel because its usually just miscommunications which is why they can forgive each other but usually dont on their own
