I just got this monitor and it's great. Really appreciate the direct, to the point review. I also decided I'd keep the arm cuff plugged into the device permanently; glad to hear it's a good instinct, given the reports of the connector piece breaking. Thanks for this!

I really didn't like the still pre-formed cuff. The monitor is big. It also gave higher results than my other one.

Another video that fails to place the sensor, where the tube comes into the cuff over the artery ... with palm up, follow a line up your arm to about an inches above the crease of your elbow. Remember, people are watching these videos to learn, not to make mistakes as in this video.

Good point you mention as the air tube placement is incorrect in this video. Should be following a straight line above the arm down to the middle finger and not on the underside of the arm. These machine can be sensitive and will detect movement indicating errors or worse yet false readings.

2:02, isn't that cuff too tight, it has no space between it & your skin? So it will choke your arm possibly rendering a false reading?

OMRON 10 series BP786N vs BP7450? which is the best option please?

you can also check out the bp5450 its basically the same as the 7450 and usually cheaper on amazon. also the evolv is very nice and i find that to actually be MORE accurate then the 5450 or 7450 when compared at the docs office.

This rigid cuff have a solid dot like this ⚪️. This dot should be aligned with Artery that carries blood from heart. At below the elbow, you can feel the heart ❤️ rate as pulse by touch. When you measure BP & pulse every time, you must use the cuff position correctly and in the same position. After each measurement, I remove the cuff and relax the arm muscles gently and re-cuff for next measurement to reduce the variability.

fortunately i dont need my bp monitor right now but the situation taught me if you can affords it invest in back up devices for what ever you may be using blood pressure monitor oximeter blood glucose monitor have generators solar panels if electricity goes out stock up on medicine

on both machines problem had something to do with the motor that pumps air into the cuff

fixed it by opening up the device adjusting rubber cords on the motor thought the problem was more complex but was the simplest of things that little detail rendered the entire device useless

Omron advertise their Blood Pressure Monitors as - "Clinically Validated". Fine! - when they are new. But what about RE-CALIBRATION during the life of the instrument? Every instrument needs Re-Calibrating throughout it's life to ensure that its performance still falls within its specification. As an Aerospace Engineer, I'm only too aware of this. So, do Omron supply a FREE Calibration Service throughout the life of their Blood Pressure Monitors? I bet Omron have never even thought about it...

@@JRESHOW Not to stretch this out, but it may be useful for people here with Blood pressure concerns. I'm normally 130 ish. Came up positive for Covid. Super mild symptoms. My BP shot to 200 for a few hours, but as lingered 140 to 160 for many days. Pretty much the entire Covid stretch. It's a long story. But It finally appears to be coming down. Finally breaking 140! No, it was envy. Not sure how sarcasm would've fit in this (120/80 is ideal), but it was envy! LOL Take care.

@@ocheannawilliams1141 You need to depress both keys at the time for start and the history button till the display starts to show horizontal lines, then you depress both buttons once more and you are done, this is listed in the manual as well.

Why? You can use it plugged in , and the batteries are for the memory, it can be be used …. So plug it in at home , then batteries are like any electronic device they keeps time ?? All while conserving battery… and ready for a trip battery power …

jeesh, you don't use the functionality of the unit due to the app terms and conditions. No wonder you've got BP issues. Why did you get the bluetooth model then, there are several available options that don't have that functionality at significantly less cost. You should read the fine print of your entire cellphone EULA....you'd have to forego that too. Anyways, E for "Effort" I guess.
