The periodical cross-over with Vee is back. And, as usual, we venture into each other's territory, much to the amusement of y'all.
So this time 'round we talked about anime - a topic that I don't quite follow. And, starting from the most recent localizers' scandals, we go into the more serious controversies of sex positivity, left-wing puritanism, the Anglosphere's purported norms around teenage sex and sexuality (that are way outside of the global norm) and the plain old emotionalism which poisons the well for (almost) everyone.

However it makes me not wanna watch his videos knowing it's just a 30 secons take spanned into 8 minutes or so, instead of a profound analysis of the topic. It may help if he planned his content and make a part by part series of 1 topic instead, idk if that will take long, I'm not sure, to each their own.

@@emanergza6383 Yes, exactly. I feel like I'm not getting any useful extra info if I listen past the first minute. He needs to start using a script or a talking point list and to learn to expand a topic with useful information. Nowadays I skip 50% of the vids unless the topic is really good.

Yea, the big problem with localizers... There is a demand for faithfully translated content from Japan, which is why fansubs exist. But because the Japanese companies refuse to sell faithfully translated content, people can't support the creators. And then in their mind all they see is people pirating it because they can get it for free, and not because the pirated version is the objectively superior product.

Then furries need to start taking action against their kind that are intolerant of others hobbies, furries that are obviously political activist, then I think we can all get along, but to be fair the general gamer and anime community is just as spineless, I always see political activist just enter and take over these communities with zero push back.

@@LaLa-dh6ht It's more inter-fandom banter than genuine intolerance, since I don't know a single furry who hasn't seen at least one anime show. And I personally have translated Japanese comics and art tutorials, so there is a _lot_ of fandom overlap. Besides, it's not really possible to police the furry "fandom" in any way, because we're a demographic, not a community, and this applies to anime fans too. But Vee has a grudge, and that's why I addressed him directly. As for political activists, I have no idea how to fix that and I have given up politics entirely.

​@LaLa-dh6ht Most people in these Fandoms are fair-weather soldiers, they'll go where they think the wind is blowing. Bud Light and Disney didn't get blown up over night, had to get some momentum going over time. My only advice, call out people on comments sections and social media on their crap. Don't bother trying to win an argument with these people, they're religious zealots, make everyone who sees this "discussion" not want to be on their side because that would be pure cringe. I had an argument last month with someone who commented that Alan Wake 2 is a great game with a great story. I disagreed, called it "millennial writing" and gave my reasons why. I swear, his next comment accused me of being a conservative (I'm not), and that I must hate black people. Let everyone else see how unhinged these people are, that's how we win.
