Here in America there were also many benefits. One was people liked the time off to think for themselves. Many decided to not return to regular full-time jobs. Corporate America is bitter about that and they still do not know how to force labor back to full-time employment. Regular people realized the benefits of working from home. Not just in money savings, but also mental health, time spent with pets, in their gardens, and nurturing social and cultural bonds. People's health began to improve and that cost the hospital industry enormous costs. They still bemoan that children's hospitals throughout the country lost money because not enough children got sick. Even in some of the poorest parts of the world, they experienced the benefits of having a balanced life, and not to mention pollution free environments. One anecdote I saw on TV was for the first time since the Brits left India, people could actually see the Himalayas with their naked eyes because thanks to COVID, all smoke-stacks industry shut down. Not many alive today remembers seeing the snow-clad mountains.

It wasn't entirely bad. Also, perhaps, because it led to this study : Spatiotemporal variation of excess all-cause mortality in the world (125 countries) during the Covid period 2020-2023 regarding socio economic factors and public-health and medical interventions. - CORRELATION Research in the Public Interest, 19 July 2024.

COVID-19 didn’t cause paralysis; government response caused paralysis. Thank you for acknowledging you were privileged. Most were not so lucky. For me, COVID was a blessing and a curse: although my work hours were reduced, I relished the break from the relentless children’s extra-curricular sporting and school commitments. Being a widow, the 27 hours a week saved quite literally saved my sanity. I was exhausted and finally got to stop! The reduction in petrol, sports uniforms, registration fees and equipment costs helped offset the wage drop. I absolutely loved the opportunity to be a ‘stay at home’ working from home mum. p.s. we were also able to get a dog 😍

"No pressure from my work, and so on..." (because I am retired)............ Is this what it has come to humanity? Sir, you might have brought your knowledge to the right-thinking people of this planet decades ago, when you were aware of the dangers! But no, your, like many others' livelihoods were in peril.........SHAME?
