Fabulous scenic ride Runa. Beautifully filmed in the Rainbow Valley travelling through the vast Rainbow Station along the Rainbow Road (or Rainbow Valley Rd), next to the Wairau River which has the Rainbow River as a major tributary of the upper Wairau River. The Rainbow River meets the Wairau upstream of the Rainbow Ski-field and also passes the Rainbow Hut, a backcountry hut of 6 Bunks. One origin of the name Rainbow Valley can be traced back to the 1850s -“This valley was named after a shepherd called Rainbow who first stocked a run here with about 8000 wethers. Mr ER Goulter states that when Rainbow returned after an absence of about a year, he found all his sheep had disappeared, and the missing sheep were never found". When I was a kid we were told that vegemite was made of rotten veg and marmite was the real stuff as it was made of blood! Pity the Molesworth was closed at this time. It was re-opened for six days over Easter when we did it and other than being badly corrugated in places I rate it as being even more spectacular than the Rainbow road. Love your vids Runa. Keep wearing that T-shirt!

Looks like more fun with a riding partner. I watch both channels and I’m glad you met up. Bites: a teaspoon dipped in boiling water and touched to the bite as hot as you can stand it kills the bacteria in the bite. Please also carry burn dressings 😅. Marmite is an English breakfast staple. Vegemite is a poor copy 😮😅😅😅 Have fun.

A decade or so ago there was an event called the Rainbow Rage from St. Arnaud to Hamner Springs for mountain bikes. It was hugely popular and I competed in it a couple of times. The top guys were doing it in just over 5 hours, my best time was 6 hours ten minutes. The scenery is just awesome and the water crossings fun. Some of those hills were steep and most pushed their bikes.

But you must make the rule before or it turns out to be a socio political always bourgeoisie/proletariat- brownie points-power thing- that resentment can establish itself, people can make you look bad, and is best avoided, unless 1 rider is injured/pregnant/old.

I have to ask why it wasn't titled "off she goes on her bike"??? As a Kiwi... You would expect me to prefer the Kiwi brand over the Australian brand... But it's the other way around, I can't stand Sanitarium Marmite. on this one it has to be the Australian Kraft product (Vegemite) all day long. What would you name a Black V-Strom 250SX? (My first REAL bike after testing Motorcycle commuting on a scooter, and Yes it felt MASSIVE, but only for the first day (yesterday) Today I was much more comfortable on it & didn't have any of the gear change issues I had yesterday because my brain is wired Foot Fand Foot (manual cars) and have to think Hand Foot Hand on the bike. it was delivered to me with 000,000kms on the clock, and now has 000,057km. but already I can tell it has so much more Stability and Grip, uses less gas, is much much faster, but is weirdly just as nimble as the 50cc 2 stroke scooter I've been riding for the past 6 months, despite being easily twice the weight and 2 feet longer! (but the scooter is so sketchy without any downward pressure on the front tyre, and all the weight at the tail end of the arrow, making directional stability non existent!)
