This reminds me of when I took my nephew on his first flight. As we flew above the clouds he said quite loudly " we are so high we might see God" The man in the seat in front of him turned and said " Son if we see God we are in big trouble!!" Thanks Josh for the memories.

@@snoggful we don’t have to interact with a spider in our life for our benefit, but flying a plane is something that we might or must have to interact with for our benefit by taking us to places. So we have to break our fear of planes at some point. Sooner the better. I mean imagine how would it feel if an adult flying for the first time and was nervous, scared. Better get used to it.

@@ridwan24seven the same could have been achieved with his nephew still trusting his Uncle, rather then tricking him into something he didn't want to do...the child would have felt a great sense of achievement if he agreed to take the flight, rather then feeling it was something forced on him. The method used was the issue not the aim.

@@scouser19a He is a natural German speaker who lived in Australia for a few years. I can hear the Aussie accent when he's speaking english. English is taught in German schools from a young age so its possible that his nephew knows English, especially if 1 or both of his parents speak English to him. My daughter can understand German that i speak to her and she speaks and understands English because her mother is Australian and we live there. She is turning 3 in October.

Josh, you are such a good "daddy." It's so much fun to see the experience with a child's eyes. I had a pretty strong belief he spoke English. But I really enjoyed hearing him speak a little German. I am an adult and this is exactly how I felt when flying until two years ago. I was terrified of flying, I spent almost 6 months watching every single KZbin video about the fear of flying and learning about aviation and planes. Now I fly twice a year but I still get very nervous when there is turbulence. Thumbs Up!

My kids had been flying since they were babies and always loved it. My sisters and I as even small kids flew around NZ in the school holidays to stay with relatives and we loved it too. We were usually unaccompanied and the air crew looked after us. We had a ball every time, we 3 sisters.

I’m very late but I have a travel obsessed uncle as well who took me to New York when I was 16 years old, to Thailand when I was 17 years old and next week I get to travel to my dream destination of San Francisco and on top of that see one my absolute favorite bands live in their hometown - all because of my uncle.
