On Our Land

“On Our Land” (2019) is a documentary film, which tells the inspirational story of young men and women in the South Hebron Hills, Palestine, who are on a mission to collect and protect their cultural heritage. Due to the Israeli occupation the cultural heritage of the Palestinians living in the villages of the South Hebron Hills is at risk. The film follows the youth who embark on a journey to interview their grandparents and members of their communities, to listen to their stories and to record how their cultural heritage is linked to the land

How moving to see this elderly gentleman reenter the home of his youth and these young people connecting so deeply with their heritage. All the more moving to view this today, knowing that the area is increasingly facing violent attacks, and that illegal settlements continue to expand.... Are the people featured here safe?
