Honestly these guys are doing what most police departments are too busy to do. The business checks, the door checks, foot patrol deterring crime and unwanted solicitation these guys are pros and this should be the standard for many security companies. Hats off to you guys. I so wish this kind of operation existed over here where I live. I've done security for years and haven't seen anything like this. There is that perfect middle ground between police officer and your everyday checkpoint scanning security officer. You all are professional, vigilant, and my God are you proactive. Hi Denver protective services, Here in California we don't just flash our lights at vehicles to check for handicap signs posted in vehicle parked in reserved parking spots, we get out and check the expiration dates on them because we have often come across vehicles using expired and stolen tags handicap placards. Great work though your company appears very professional from what I see. 👍👍😎

I did this exact same work in the 90s I had zero gear and drove 400 miles per 12-hour shift. Now I work at a school sitting, standing, walking, bike patrol, golf cart, and vehicle patrol are all my options. I am making 75,000 annually nonarmed and the school is a very low risk as nothing of value in on the facility. I work 8-hour shifts and do 4 on and 3 off. Only work 32-hour work weeks.

This is awsome most likly some of these guys are x-military, I believe the day is coming when private patrol companies will have a larger role in public safety and respond to crimes in progress and the police will be like umpires on the field to validate situations to go to next step. They may first put standards in place for private patrol companies to operate as low level law enforcement.

I did armed security patrol for a few companies in California...and this is exactly what it felt like every night! The company owner for Denver Metro is probably rich because that fleet of vehicles is looking...damn nice! Lol. I hope he is paying the employees at least a decent wage because that was exactly the reason why I left my last company; we did pretty much what our local PD was doing...but at half the pay & none of the backup.

You got a good security company. The one I work for has a college contract and I have to sit here in an office at the college doing foot patrols every few hours mainly because I get blisters on my feet and what not. We have a golf cart but I got into a little accident with it only cost about $97 in damages so until I get my license they took my golf cart privileges. They told me that it's college rules to have a license because it's less liability.

Looks like a professional company. Private security is up and coming, especially with the downsizing of local police departments. Just a helpful hint to help you stay safe. When you found the unsecured door, I would have suggested you call for backup from your company or law enforcement before entry. Even though you are armed, having backup adds that extra layer of protection in case something goes wrong. I most definitely would not have allowed the camera person inside until you cleared the building, and it was safe. Keep up the good work.

Good point. Makes sense, since I always refer to medical doctors as "Good afternoon, Pediatric Doctor Smith" and "Thank you for helping with my teeth, Orthodontic Doctor Jones". Otherwise, how would we ever be able to distinguish between an emergency room doctor and a foot doctor.

@@explorer326mpdI've been a sworn officer. I now work armed security for the Feds. (I make much more than I did in LE. 80k to 100k). Telling folks you are an "officer" implies that you are Law Enforcement. There is a vast legal difference between the two.

"Officer", however, is a fairly broad term, and we do strive to make sure that people understand what we are and are not (as you may have seen at the end of the video where we made sure that the lady in the car understood we were security). Certainly, the fine line can be easily crossed with the wrong intent and practice, as you mentioned. But do you, as an armed security for the feds, refer to yourself as "Officer Allerton", or "Security Officer Allerton" when you introduce yourself? Regardless of how much you earn, you are still a security officer. Although our Patrol Division are POST certified, and a good number are currently sworn in reserve capacities, they all definitely know the seriousness that implying otherwise could have on their careers.

I'm glad you're having fun doing what you're doing but I don't think you're going to pass the psych test to become a real cop. Your company provides a needed service for its clients but I think your training needs to be a lot better. Most importantly they should be training you guys properly how to enter buildings and rooms, by the looks of your entry you are freehanding it and have no clue how to do it right.
