Honestly I love Lore Olympus more than any webcomic I've ever read. I was drawn to it because of the art and Greek mythology, but I stuck with it because every character has so much depth and is so relatable to me (except Apollo). I love how Minthe isn't the typical bitchy competition for Persephone. Her and Persephone are honestly really similar. They both have confidence issues, think they don't deserve love, and feel like they just don't belong. I love how none of the characters are one dimensional. I think even Apollo can be explained (not redeemed). Idk I just love Rachel's stuff. I only saw 3 episodes and I was hooked to the doctor foxglove show. Just pleeeease go read Lore Olympus I swear it's worth it.

I would say even Apollo's relatable because he's this type of sleeze/horrible person you recognise. I know people who've given Apollo vibes and who are "nice" until they aren't anymore and I think in a way everyone's like that. You do things to get something in return sometimes. People also are sometimes delusional and really don't see the truth as it is, which he doesnt. He believes that Persephone likes him and that they're a thing. I think that's relatable, not the "we're a couple thing" but the fact people don't always want to see the present for what it is. Just usually you don't take it to such a horrible and evil extreme.

@@Amayagma Apollo would be what I call the narcissistic sociopath. Think of Ted Bundy. Honestly, that's what I think of Assollo. He's so wrapped up in himself that he thinks he's never wrong and that everyone wants him, and he will manipulate your mind into believing his reality other then your own. And when you unravel it and he loses control he goes ape shit. He will throw every possible abuse it will take to break you and think you're the problem when it's really his because he's never to blame.

@@insidiouscerberus6896 I agree. Gotta say I really love Apollo's character, it's so well written and he feels very real. He isnt just devious evil bad guy who hurts people around him 24/7. He cares about his sister, he cares about Hermes and that's what makes him feel like a truly sick person because he has depth to him and the lowest he can go is probably yet to be explored. He's a great villian/antagonist that'll really help further Persephone's journey to becoming a strong independant woman who finds a much healthier and stable relationship in the future it seems

I’m not siding with Apollo, but Apollo can somewhat be related to. He’s like the type of person to where if you say something that’s a fact, they continue to ignore it until something big happens. *spoiler warning :(* An example is when Persephone showed him his broken lyre, he thought she liked him and that they were into each other until she showed him his lyre. My brother is kinda like that, he keeps messing with me and he won’t stop until like I do something drastic and stuff, but it’s too risky to. Apollo is obviously a very bad character, but I feel that with some people, he is relatable. *edit* YESS LORE OLYMPUS IS THE BEST COMIC

I love how she uses her art style to tell her story. It's very unique and surreal and so fluid. I've never seen a comic like that before and I really love the style. The way she draws Kore feeling guilt and fear and excitement is so so so enchanting! Like you can actually feel her emotions through the illustration and the flow is so flawless. It's really incredible how popular Webtoons became within the last years, giving creator a huge platform of people liking different styles of comics but also making them finding new stuff they probably would have overseen otherwise, like it happened with Lore Olympus. I am from Germany and watched a documentary about old greek myths when someone asked if people know more stories like that show. I then recommended Lore Olympus and she was super happy, but another day someone responded, saying he also reads it rn and it's his favourite story on Webtoons. It always was hard for me to find people reading the same mangas or comics at all where I live, but now everyone seems to at least know Webtoons and I have lots of people to talk about.

(Unpopular opinion apparently) I know this is a bit of a unpopular opinion but I don’t like WEBTOON, since most of the bigger names are for teen girls. I generally don’t like for example Lore Olympus , for a few glaring reasons. 1. There age difference is insanely creepy and hades has a huge power dynamic considering his the king of hell, and persephone is basically a no body Child 2. Persephone is rap*ed to make hades look better and less horrible in comparison. Which is a horrible and insanely cheap thing to do just to make a character look like they would be a good match.That’s why I stopped reading, their are other reasons but those are the main ones. For some reason a lot of readers of this comic seem to ignore or gloss over these issues. Which makes sense considering it’s marketed to a young audience.

If you’re hesitant read this: I’d seen the Ads for this and thought it was dumb as hell and avoided it at all costs.... I began reading it and was rather bored and then suddenly I couldn’t stop. I read 110 episodes in a single day! I had so many questions and I was so yearning for their first kiss, the confession and the way their relationship would grow after they got together.. THE CLIFFHANGERS ugh they’re so bitter sweet, it makes me wish I had the money to see chapters earlier :( this is definitely worth the read and very versital for all interests. Also just fyi it goes over sensitive topics like rape and abuse and I was worried about this because I have PTSD in both areas but I wasn’t particularly triggered and I was thankful for the accurate representation of it all. Hope this review helps.

@@imadrawer9721 I also generally don't look at those kind of power dynamics but here I always saw thew dynamic as one of mutual healing since Hades is written as emotionally broken, Persephone being not broken until that part with Apollo but coming from a situation that made her feel trapped and inadequate. That situation seems used as something that can get in the way of the two, or make them more "alike", cant say for sure yet. Otherwise, Hades is portrayed as polite from the beggining so I understand the main tool the author uses is that kindness of him that is more indicated as contrarian to his own brothers actions (that's a contrast the author uses explicitly at least). What I do see is his very capitalistic way of life and his disregard to human life to which he doesn't aply the same kindness he is capable in other areas. The same is towards other non divine mythological beings. I do see that there was a much more sexual them going on in a previous version but in there as far as I saw Persephone was a much more mature goddess, or at least had that wittiness she lacks here and is instead replaced by her general intelligence in academic subjects (being portrayed as that intelligent girl with 0 experience in practical areas of life). But an explotaitive power dynamic, well, that I don't see. It has hints to "sugar daddy" style of relationships but depurated by a high class background of both characters (typical in soups that nobody seems to really need to work in order to eat or they do work but never see a real worker lifestyle), when nobody has economical problems then the author only works with the aesthetics of it without the burden of portraying injustice as normal.

Honestly same. And the rape being used as a plot point to get the main characters together was honestly disrespectful and gross, and people are going to think that rape is something you can just get over and will only be affected by when triggered. Like no, it takes over your life and changes you as a person?… I hate how the MC seemed to be just fine after the assault except in some instances, makes it seem like assault isn’t a big deal :/ maybe I’m just taking it personally but I felt hurt and offended by that and I just had to drop the whole comic

it kind of worries me how few people seem to think that the romance between Hades and Persephone is really creepy, like Persephone is 19 and has pretty much the maturity of a young teen, and Hades is over 1000. of course someone can't be that old in real life but he is very much the equivalent of a real-life grown adult. and the fact that Hades is the king makes a really creepy power dynamic. i get that it's based on greek mythology which is pretty problematic already, but retelling it through a modern lens to an audience of mostly teenage girls could influence a lot of readers to think that kind of relationship could be in real life. I'm not hating on Rachel, i just think she needs to consider how her story could negatively affect its readers more.

I totally understand where youre coming from in the perspective, but these issues have already been realized in the story, as well as Hades being a very respectful and polite man. Hades even recognizes that shes very young, and Persephone undermines her worth by contrasting it with "well your the king of the underworld so what are my problems to yours?"(to which Hades retorts with a whole "comparing hardships is not a good idea" type response). Either way, even with the age and maturity gap, I think the way Hades is, if anything, constructively affecting young teenage girls on topics such as boundaries, respect, consent, and maturity. If it doesn't speak for girls, than it definitely speaks for boys. I for one, absolutely admire Hades in Lore Olympus, as Hades is a great role model for how to properly treat a women(or anyone) with sincere respect. I understand the concern of girls being impressioned by LO so much so that they may be influenced to have a high affinity for much older, and much more socially/financially powerful men, but I think Hades is what most likely resonates with the overall audience

@@arwynna.4715 i see where you're coming from but also...they're gods and goddesses 😂 they're not beholden to the same moral compasses/ code of conducts as us modern day humans. that being said, i get what you mean about the content and the audience base being mostly teen girls. however, when i was a teen i still understood the difference between art and reality, and didnt apply my own morals to whatever art i was consuming. if we did that all the time there would only be a handful of art pieces/ literature/ plays that would be completely "okay" to consume, and the world would be a very bleak, sad place to be indeed.

Slight correction, persephone is 20 and her body only stays 19. Because of all she's been through and her trauma with the story progressing she has become more mature and is an adult that makes her own life choices. Also I understand your concern about how it could influence young girls, but as a teenager myself I know I should separate fiction and reality and if one is going to be influenced by this story, I think it has positives such as hades being very respectful and always asking for her consent.
