The Stephen Lewis method piece is priceless, using a backstory to flesh out a few lines into a rounded act. A really gifted man. Respect

It’s a huge regret I never got to meet Stephen Lewis, by all accounts he was a lovely man. I’m in my 30’s and have always loved On the Buses since I can remember. It somehow makes me nostalgic for a time I never actually lived in.

I met Stephen in 1999 in Huddersfield. At the hotel he was staying at. Very lovely man. Reminisced about On The Buses. He smelled of TCP. Bless him.

I was a kid in those days and on the busses was something that we always watched.People say you look back through rose tinted glasses. That is rubbish they were better days and much happier.Look at the misery we have now.😔

@@shortwavelisteningforbegin418 Exactly...the next lot of society today are miserable/moody/backward-thinking/brainwashed and dumbed down. At least back then, you could whistle at a girl and try and attempt some banter and chat them up and have a laugh etc...these days that's "Toxic Masculinity"...[where do these lentil-munching liberals get these studently-type names from?]....

..and now we've lost Anna Karen, the last of rhe main stars from the show. May she R.I.P. I'm don't want to even think about how she died but my God she shouldn't have gone out that way..That said they will always live on via the On The Buses TV series and films . I'm sure they'd all want us to keep on laughing ..and we will ! 🙂

I was born in 1984. So years after the final episode of on the buses was first broadcast. But this show, and classic British sitcoms are great, and much better then the vast majority of sitcoms being aired nowadays. Rest in peace to all the cast and crew of this great show.

Don't know how all these young woman had the hots for Jack LOL Stephen Lewis as the inspector was my favourite character, awesome actor. Have the whole series and the 3 movies on DVD, watch them periodically for guaranteed laughs. Wouldn't get away with most of the risque antics Stan and Jack got up to! Actually also loved Arthur (Michael Robbins)

Television from a time when we actually had real entertainment on "the box." Sadly, those days are long gone and so is my television - five years now. Not paying £159 a year for the puerile drivel they have the nerve to call entertainment now. Thankfully, classic shows like this can be found on DVD.
