The bridge they used was between Hillingdon and Uxbridge on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines. When this happens we have to suspend the train service while the bridge is inspected. We call it a 'Bridge Bash'. The Busman's code would of course never be used but it is a whole lot funnier than the Phonetic Alphabet.

One inaccuracy is Blakeys constant moaning of the bus always running late. There is nothing management can do about the late running as there is always a reason for it. It is however a company offence to run early. ( in my 35 years of experience)

NPO the national broadcaster in the Netherlands bought in a lot of British sitcoms and dramas in the sixties, seventies and eighties. Like many European countries, the population speak English very good, usually as their second language, but subtitles were added to help people who found the English accents hard to understand. On the Buses was sold to nearly every European country, from Ireland to Finland.
