Thank you for making & sharing this video. Love to hear the stories. In Holland you get fined when your dust-trolley isn't lined up the right way with all the others in a row at certain points or if you have real waste material in the recycle-bin for instance. The last one is for free and for the real dust you have to pay. The glass and paper are collected in bins near a shop in the neighbourhood. These men are doing a lot more than just a good job! When I was a kid the dustbins were big heavy round metal bins , and the dust men picked them up and put them on their shoulders and carried them. They actually came into your garden to collect them.

So much walking, such service. Here in the US, if your cans/rollaways are not lined up just-right on the curb, they may skip you. - edit: Oh, and street sweeping? Most towns and cities here have forced that responsibility on the adjacent property owners, and the streets get swept once or twice a year by a large machine.
