Limited color palettes are awesome! I'm hosting a Color Along with tutorials on my channel and we are working with a limited color palette. It's so challenging, but brings out your creativeness so much.

Thank you for another great video Rachel! I absolutely adore your color technique, how you make all your pages look so balanced and smooth. I just purchased my first Prismacolor 150 set as I was so inspired by you and can't wait to try those using your tips! Keep up with the great work :)

Just a bit of information, when I want to use a marker for a background I lay down a light layer of pencil ( in a color I want the background to be). Then I use a Pitt Pen brush marker over the pencil. It does not bleed or ruin the reverse side. Love the colors you chose on this.

So smart! Thanks so much for the tip!!!

I really really like that...unexpected but very appealing.

Lovely coloring! Pro tip: Use black matte acrylic paint instead of alcohol markers, its more covering and it doesn't bleed through :) I must say that I really like your videos ^^,

What brand of marker did you use for both of the black and pinkish backgrounds?

I missed what book this is. Can anyone let know? Or where I can find and the pencils used. thanks.

Loved watching you. You use a white Posca....why not do the Black background with a black Posca? Acrylic paint markers do not bleed😊
@PencilStash4 жыл бұрын
OH MY GOSH, I'll have to try that! My coloring is always an experiment :) I don't have any Poscas except for the white, but I can easily fix that! Thank you!

@@PencilStash Alternatively I've seen other people use a light acrylic paint wash (standard acrylic paint watered down), and I myself have started using soft pastels to lay down a background. Both of these do allow (in most cases) the use of coloured pencil on top for detail or you can add gradient/light and shadow with the acrylic or pastels anyway :)

Beautiful. What do you think is the best colouring pencils? I was thinking of buying either Prismacolour or Polycromos but can't make up my mind
@PencilStash4 жыл бұрын
Hello! I prefer the Prismacolors - I find them softer and easier to blend, however I do like the Faber-Castells, too. But for my money, I prefer the Prismas. Good luck!
@gagatoots8074 жыл бұрын
@@PencilStash thank you. I prefer softer pencils so that has given me my answer 😀

I wouldn't say this is my favorite but it is great to see you actually color a picture that wasn't tied into a plug for your employer. When you get the itch to color again please turn on your camera. We'll be waiting pencil in hand to color along - maybe.🎨♿👵Barb Nelson

I really just don’t care for those books. For me it’s too hard to decide what it is that I’m coloring
@PencilStash4 жыл бұрын
You are not wrong! And there's so many little details, each page takes quite a long time to color. Plus, most pages are double-spreads! These books are definitely a time investment.
