After a week spent in Donbass, our journalists bring back images of a Ukrainian army worn out by years of conflict. The troops now have to confront the suicide of young soldiers at the end of their nerves. In Avdiivka, on the front line, some civilians are willing to join the pro-Russian separatists zone. Ukrainian inhabitants and soldiers continue to live in fear and uncertainty, while Moscow continues to blow hot and cold on Ukraine.

As a Greek orthodox i can't believe that these two Nations are fighting eachother..i 've grown up ( Thessaly-Greece) with sayings from olders that Slavs are friends and allies. In my village in Magnesia region there was an old lady from Ukraine, used to work in a house ( looking after an other older lady).. Valentina ,very respectful lady. A week ago she decided to leave for Ukraine because her son is in hospital disabled- injured from the war. Neighbours we gathered some money for her needs and helped her to travel and gave her a new phone with international apps , so we can find her or contact with us if she needs anything, but because she's old and not familiar with phones like that ,isn't working. The moment leaves the village broke my hurt. I hope and pray she and her family ( so as all people) be ok.

The US has sent a massive amount of military equipment to Ukraine over the years, including as recently as a month ago when $650 million worth of weapons were given to them. Some subtitles are not correct... not that it completely changes the point, but is a bit annoying. Like writing "this is a russian weapon, yes", when the soldier said "This was made in the soviet union" (which was not russia then, but also included Ukraine and many other countries at the time). And the old lady at 5:50 didn't say some of the things - nothing about 2 years, checkpoints and bribes. At 6:16 the other old lady didn't say about "15 km". At 6:41 she says "there was this hole", not "one day a missile fell..." and then she doesn't say "The wall has been rebuilt"... anyway. I understand, that you may be adding some off-camera information to tell a story, but these moves are kinda unethical on your side. Don't twist words of the people, add details in your own voiceover. Journalist shouldn't do this.

Because it was not a democratic decision. It was a choice birthed by violence. Moreover, its sovereign Ukranian territory which they have heild for hundereds of years. These countries would also need international recognition and considering how Putin's poltical violence has pushed this conflict further and further so needlessly, I don't think anyone from the international community wants to back that unless you are already an ally like "Communist" China.

@@northernleigonare There were referendums held in multiple states in favor of secession or at least some autonomy from Ukraine. These areas are majority ethnic Russian. Ukraine is a poorly drawn up nation! The interests of the majority of the people in the East do not align with those in the West. The East deserves independence from the West, which has much greater interest in joining NATO and aligning with US/EU interests.
