Daimler is the parent company and there would be some parts commonality. Steering wheels are similar but different part numbers. I’m sure Paccar shares parts between KW and Pete to save cost and to have less suppliers and parts to inventory.
@Perkelenaattori4 жыл бұрын
@@islandman5802 Yes of course they have different parts numbers since the logo on the wheel is different. If you look at the steering wheel control buttons you'll notice the switch gear is the same though. my parents bought a house in GF, MT from a grain hauler guy that had a twin steer cabover with a big sleeper and matching trailer. black and chrome. i dont remember the brand or anything but it was rare indeed. his shop where he parked it was next to my house. at the time i assumed it was a money pit cuz he was always working on it but now i think he was just being extremely meticulous with it to keep the value up. it never stayed dirty for long and always shined like a gem.

It might not be the prettiest hood but when you stat talking about the difference between 5 mpg vs. 7 mpg and do the math and see an extra $15,000 in the bank every year, it's kind of a no brainer. I will probably end up with a cabover someday but it sure is fun watching you work on that old iron because it makes people like me see that it's really not that hard when you just put a little work into it. I'm just a little farmer from Northwest Iowa / Southeast South Dakota watching some guy in Canada fix up semi trucks and I look forward to every single new episode believe me. It's been a pretty crappy year for me but it sure is nice to be able to just get away from it all sometimes and watch the Good Ol KZbin videos so thank you for what you do because I'm sure it's just as much work has wrenching on that old iron sometimes. When I was an owner operator trust me I was concerned about every mile I could get out of my fuel. with that being said, if I where to become an owner operator in a class 8 truck I would look for the 689 with the aero package (if I went with pete) the way I see it, even if you saved 1 dollar for every mile you drove, considering that truck was close to a million miles that truck could have kept almost a million dollars in your pocket in fuel costs. but that is just my rough guestimate pulled strait out of thin air.... Sure the old school looking trucks look cool, but if I am buying the fuel then Forget looks I would rather have the money. When I owned my little box truck freightliner my driving style completely changed after a couple trips to the pumps because it was hurting my bottom line.
