When mama barks, the cubs listen and immediately obey.

Boy that lady is a real genius. Walking up to a mother bear with cubs, what could possibly go wrong!

Love Old Forge! We used to camp on Alger Island up on 4th Lake when I was a kid in the 70s. Such fun & great memories! 🛶🏕

I heard Witold hasn't been enjoying the food that much at the homefront so he rented a costume and two local kids. This could also be to welcome the two pandas to the US and don't forget the bear was the emblem for the Algoma Central RR. Thanks for the fun clip Regards from Milwaukee

Great footage of the bears. Sad the DEC had to put them down because ppl meddled with them too much. Thank you for the video. You and Witold stay well.

The DEC euthanized these bears August 12 as “well meaning” people who thought they could feed and pet them and pose for selfies led to the mother becoming extremely defensive of her cubs.

I saw that. The locals were telling the tourists to leave them alone and they would not stop trying to interact with them. I live in Herkimer county away from the tourist areas and we have bears and we don't tell people passing through the area about them. We keep DEC informed about them. We are very protective of our wildlife neighbours

I'm responding to several comments here the same way. All three bears had to be killed. why? only because of people like this videographer who got too close. You can read about it online. It's a crying shame. people are so stupid. Apparently the ones who are stupidest were the tourists in town. I don't know if this videographer is a tourist or a local but if the person is a local, bigger shame on them for not knowing how to stand back. unless of course the video was shot from inside their home, in which case I take everything back. Which doesn't help the bears.

The DEC police killed them shortly thereafter. Tourist got too close and the mother got aggressive.

I feared something like that could happen, very sad. Too bad they couldn’t save the cubs.

Gotta be real stupid to hang out to get pics as close to the cubs as that

It is upsetting that the DEC euthanized not long after this video. They were surrounded by people taking pictures, and try to pet them. They are wild animals, its not a petting zoo. Leave them be and they will make their way home. Of course momma bear started to get defensive of their babies. Its what they do. It breaks my heart.
