There are two forms of lying that are permitted under certain circumstances, taqiyya and kitman. These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

assalamualaikum well, the show Is called 'Muslims on the Map' as opposed to Islam Described. Not all Muslims are at that point where they can totally shave off music as it clearly should be.. but something one has to realize is that there are a Lot of Muslims that do listen to music on a fairly regular basis. How accurate would this program be as a news magazine show if it only portrayed Muslims praying in the masaajid.. as opposed to what Muslim's actually do most of the time outside of it?

I didnt say the whole video was haram, but the first segment was without a doubt against Islamic teachings. Promoting both genders to gather and for music, that is against Islam and all muslims know that. But you have these "moderates" , "reformists" or if you want to call them "westernized muslims" that want to changet that.

Well, no one can be against that video. I guess this is exactly what muslims have to do to reconcile with non-muslims. The second step should be to point the verses of the quran that you no more use or follow. But you can count on me ; I am against Iraq war and intense colonization of Israel by jews. By the way, I am a very solid agnostic and I believe in human reason and human emotional intelligence. It is what we, human being, have in common.

Some major scholars in the West have said it is permissible, therefore your opinion should be humble rather than too certain. no the first part of the show is showing different perspectives of muslims around the country, and who are you to judge peoples actions as haram or not?your a scholar? if you dont agree with it thats your opinion but there will be people with different opinions, we need to learn how to get along even if we do have differences.....great work MAS! only thing is maybe the reporters need some more practice, lol manifest is a goof

This is not my opinion; I say it is haram because most Islamic scholars have said so. The first segment of the show was in a way promoting the idea that music is ok. Which it is not. And when they show Muslims participating in these kinds of activities it gives the wrong impressions to everyone. And that is when people are led astray, just as the Christians and Jews have gone astray. We must not follow in theyre footsteps. Do you have any idea what kind of influence music can have on a person?

Do not make stuff up about what the Prophet pboh said. He has never said that. Moderate is a defination that westerners label muslims that they "like" or muslims that copy westerners. Because westerners or i should say non-muslims usually see things such as praying 5 times a day to be extreme.

The ideas of Urban Muslims with it's mostly made up of Muslims that took shahadah should be included.
