Surprised that bread didnt go as hard as a rock 30 seconds after coming out of the microwave. This has always been my experience with microwaved bread products.Another awesome review Grego, staying clear of this one.

Again, not sure how these guys are still above water producing these items… brown foul meet beets tot anyday and yeah, these are surely based off the version we used to collect at 5.20am at the BP in 1997 after a session on $1 drinks at Rosie’s, Alice’s, City Rowers, Friday’s et al… Definitely a pass at that price for frozen. Up above in Pommie-land, where I am from, is a national bakery chain called Gregg’s - note the two Gs at the end - they heat up sandwiches with fillings in that are best served hot (usually meat) - that reminds me a bit of one of their sandwiches!

I always buy a few of these when they are on special and have them in the freezer for those "dusty mornings" after a big night. Chuck a small handful of diced bacon on it before you stick it in the microwave and Boom! Hangover cured! ;)

i amazed that this is even a thing. don't think i've ever seen anyone buy one. go to coles, buy a roast chook and go to Vietnamese bakery next door for a couple of long rolls. you'd spend more but it'll be much better.

$5 25 years ago is equivalent to 9.89 in 2024 and minimum wage in 1999 was $10.14. Minimum wage in 2024 $23.23. So really it wasn't that cheap.

I have bought them sometimes I'll have them as they come or add things, because of the price I don't buy them all the time, I tend to only buy the Roast Chicken Rolls when they are on special. Coles and Woolies only sell the Roast Chicken Rolls, I was in a Shell Servo the other day and saw a Satay Chicken Roll.

Used to buy these frequently. They aren't as good as the classic servo ones where the bread was fresh and soft. I find that the bread is chewy with this one, and gets hard esp in the bottom corners of the bread, and usually needs a bit extra in the microwave as it cooks off the frozen/ice bits that tend to build up on the meat.

Maaaate, you gotta try the takeout style chicken at woollies. Use brioche buns and seriously it's like a kfc fillet burger. Use iceberg lettuce, praise Mayo and pepper :) BTW, these microwave meals shrink. The chicken rolls would barely feed a teething baby

Greg i aggree this Roll looks like lazy mans food think about it the entry to the supermarket is most likely near the Bakery where one can purchase Bread Rolls possibly less chewy a Ciabata roll or what not. The Deli is next to the bakery and the chicken is already shredded it may even come as Peri Peri chicken or one can take a hot chook home all this in the space of 45secs . then back to the front self checkout bong bing bang your in and out in 1 min and 1/2, whilst getting this on the menu roll you have to walk to the back of hte store or all the way to the right and then search the freezer shelves high and low, i dont get it, it kinda belongs on a Qantas menu. cheers for the review and adding that extra will make it sing.
