The most advanced rhythmic brain in the world. I wish there were a galaxy-wide competition where he could have competed.

There have been a handful of drummers throughout history who bear no discrepancy between the invocation of concept and physical limitation most of us are prone to. When you're able to close the gap between what you're able to conceive of and what you're able to actually play, then you have mastered the game. Simply put, Virgil is another echelon above most drummers. His concepts and ability to pull them off is something that most find virtually impossible to fathom. To call this man a genius would be an insult. He transcends what we thought was humanly possible.

Saw Virgil with Allan Holdsworth ( on Allan's last tour, back in 2017 ). An incredible experience that I still can't define, all these years later.

Virgil has been a heavy influence on me not just as an amazing drummer reaching unimaginable levels of greatness but also as a health conscious person that knows that without a healthy body and mind would not be able to function right. Dom, I think "Health and Conditioning for drummers" would be a great topic to talk about in the future.

Drove 6hrs for one that was in Memphis, TN. He played to a song called "Dog Boots", POWER 32nd notes with the feet at 200+ bpm... Ri-Sickulous!!! Watching Virgil via 1080p, 4K, 8k is amazing, but seeing it live is an "out of body" experience. If you have an opportunity for a live experience, JUST DO IT!!
