Amazing video, in every aspect. This is exactly how I want my works to be, in fact this kind of plot (for lack of a better term) is what I envision for my own future projects (an ODST team with some marines fighting covenant until reinforcements arrive). One piece of constructive criticism/discussion topic, muzzle flash on suppressed weapons. I see many people do this, I have no problem with it but I can’t help but thinking about it every time I see it. It’s doesn’t really make sense, so What’s a good alternative to the yellow/orange pieces and muzzle flash for suppressed weapons? Do you think simply small pieces of cotton or grey tac at the end of the suppressor w/o flash would be a good alternative for such weapons? (Ofc the smaller orange/yellow pieces hitting the enemy would still be used) It always gets me thinking, and I think that’s what I want to try whenever I’ve amassed enough sets and pieces for higher end vids. Very enjoyable video friend, keep it up!

Thanks, although I think this debate is moreso about stylization vs realism. Personally, I try to stay away from being too realistic in my animations because, well, they're megaconstrux figures- and they also lend themselves well to more stylized and experimental types of animation. I prefer shining lights on muzzle flashes because it stands out more and give the gun a more punchy and impactful feel (hence why their recoil is high and why the camera shakes so much when they shoot). That's not to say that the light is inherently unrealistic either, muzzle flash is generally dependent on ammunition, time of day, barrel length, and etc. It is still a light source to some degree. Thanks for the feedback, and I appreciate the discussion!

@hollowsteel Жыл бұрын
Fifteen frames per second
@haloblokbuster7991 Жыл бұрын
I have a question? How do you get your stop motions so smooth? Is it the software, camera quality or like a CGI thing?
@hollowsteel Жыл бұрын
@@haloblokbuster7991 neither? I just got really good at moving figures around. You have to take momentum and weight into account when animating, which is part of why it takes so long, but once you get it down, things can look super smooth and fluid. Framerate doesn’t make that big of a difference, aside from forcing you to take on an absurdly large work load to account for the faster frame rates.
@jordanc.5392 жыл бұрын
First video I've seen of yours and it has better production value than the halo TV Series! I'll be watching your other videos for sure. One thing I thought of while watching this to enhance the animation was printing off different environmental backgrounds to replace the blue (desert, forest, urban, etc.). They don't need to have hyper detail as they will generally be out of focus in each scene, but I feel like that would immerse the viewer even more.
@hollowsteel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They did drop the ball with the show, but I wouldn’t necessarily say my production value is that much higher-
