Tip #1 ~ Have a couple small rubber floor mats handy, put these down first then those little plastic things won't move on ya, they dig right into the rubber. Had the same problem at anchor down rv resort in Tennessee, beautiful place.
@geemoe30646 жыл бұрын
if the rubber mat not handy - try using 3 blocks on each wheel for the 2 high blocking. 2 high all at once can be too much at once.

I am so glad you guys love Texas. I fell in love with Texas on my first business trip down here in 1981. Then I moved my family down here in Dec. 1982. Texas has been home ever since then and I love it more now than ever. You need to come back to Texas and spend a whole season and even then you wouldn't scratch the surface. My all time favorite place is The Big Bend National Park, you guys would love it. Later, Paul

Hey we stayed at the Oasis last September. Nice, clean little RV park. Also, when we need to go 2 high with those yellow levelers, we put 2 down beside each other, then put one on top in the middle, locking the bottom 2 together. That way you are sort of building a ramp up to the 2 high part. Works for us, never had a problem with them scooting. We've been full timing since June '17 and love it. Love watching your videos!

Love your family. They are so fun. Our driving through Texas story. It's Christmas time, we're going from California to Florida on I10. We are listening carefully to the weather, I even have my Weather Radio on, we're supposed to stop at El Paso for the night and they announce a MAJOR Ice Storm going through Central Texas. We stop for a bathroom break and the wind is so strong, we have problems opening the door. We cancel the El Paso reservations and make new ones for Houston. We're driving in a 1994 Ford Escort wagon, these cars are light, even fully loaded. We white knuckle it to Houston, through high winds and driving rain. And we're glad we did, I10 was closed due to ice in the El Paso area. We kept on going to Jupiter, Florida, because that weather was behind us.

Welcome to Texas. A ton of Host Harvest there. Let me say, Llama Farm. One child off to college, two more to go. Most people are excited, but I did not want my kids to leave. I adore them and our time together, until, I see how they are flourishing and I get to visit my stuff, since when we sold the house, they got first dibs on everything. Wait, Trish cooked in a Walmart parking lot, does the new rig have a generator? Blue Beacon Truck Wash or Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax so you can wash with the slides out. Most RV parks will let you wash on site or hook to hose cleaner such as 30 minute outdoor cleaner, which is an amazing product for the awnings! I love the shrink wrap idea!

We drove from Canada to Arizona in December and our rig looked like it had been on the bottom of the ocean! We stopped at a Blue Beacon in Texas and got an amazing service both in quality and price. The truck rig and bikes looked like new in under 20mins!! You don’t even get our of your vehicle except to pay which from memory was around $50 and well worth it.

We use Blue Beacon Truck Wash to keep our coach clean all across country. Runs about $50 to $60 for 34 foot Motorhome. They do good job no matter what state we've been in. Located close to Truck Stops. I have seen Trailers and. 5th wheels being washed at their sites. Truckers have always been respectful to us when we are in line. My wife and I love your vids.

Welcome to Texas. We came down in our 5er in 2013 and somewhere around the 2nd day, I said I am never leaving! :). Lately I've been in the Dallas area but it's March Madness so I'm in Austin (SXSW just started btw) while he's immersed in b-ball in Dallas. 😉. Just a hint from us, get the Flying J Good Sam's card so you can fill and pay at the pumps and don't have to go in and give the credit card and guess how much fuel to pay for and then get reimbursed like you do at Loves. I was so happy to find out about that when we were in WI. OH, and definitely stop at Buc-ee's. You HAVE to experience one while down here! There's one over by TMS that is brand new. There's a nice size one in Temple and Bastrop east of Austin. They're all over. Might head over to the book depository. Give yourself at least half a day there! And Southfork Ranch in Parker. And you have great timing because the bluebonnets are just starting to bloom. The state flower and they don't last long but boy are they show along the highway as your driving! Enjoy time here. :)

Just a little f.Y.I.. I have found that a lot of truck washes for big rigs will wash an R.V. also. They can be found near many truck stops and sometimes inside a truck stop. We just rolled in from TX last night. It was.....okay. We did Houston (Space Center) and then San Antonio-area. San Antonio was so packed with people it was hard to enjoy. Traveling in TX was okay: we have an older diesel, so those new-fangled, large nozzles don't work, but we still found fuel easily (love Love's). Drivers are polite (not the same in every state). Mixed luck with the KOAs we stayed at (Houston was good, San Antonio was only decent....not a great part of town). Ended up having to overnight in DFW at Cowtown RV park, which ended up being a pleasant surprise. Had a medical issue to deal with the required a trip to the ER.......that stunk, but not TX's fault. The most unfortunate incident: our window in the upper bedroom (5th wheel) somehow came open (it's an emergency exit window) and got ripped off the camper when a semi's stack caught it and finding a replacement is evidently the equivalent of searching for the holy grail. Also not TX's fault, but the overall experience left us with a bitter aftertaste. The new rig is looking good!
