Since we already had a RAM 1500, we used this spreadsheet extensively when looking at RV's. It was the final "go or no go" data point when making a decision. Finally settled on a Surveyor Legend 203RKLE which was well within our towing capabilities...all the numbers.

Thanks to your video I discovered I am 300 pounds over GVWR. Load on my hitch combined with family of 4 and toys in bed of truck pushed it over the top. Considering moving some items into the trailer. That will take the load out of the pick up but put a little more tongue weight. Excited to go to the scales and figure this all out. Thank you very much for your hard work. You too are fun to watch.

Cool How do you know if you can screw into the side of a camper or not? Some dealers have told me NEVER do that because wires could be behind the wall....just curious about how much you can do to outfit and customize. Like if you don't have a wall cabinet how do you know if you could install one above a toilet etc.

Great video as always! I will definitely use the awesome tips to organize our fifth wheel we just purchased six months ago. We upgraded from a Jay-flight 26 ft travel trailer to a 39 ft Denali fifth wheel because we needed more privacy and room i.e. Bathroom was too small, couch was not big enough for the family to enjoy a movie together, bedroom did not have a walk around bed and no closet space and the kitchen is now much roomier, which makes cooking and serving more enjoyable. Once you live in an RV for a while you notice the things that are important to you. Advice for those who are thinking of buying a new RV, try to focus on what is important to you to feel comfortable before you choose a certain RV model. I enjoyed touring your awesome RV. You did a great job in describing everything. I’m looking forward to learning more about your future upgrades. Enjoy your new RV and always Happy Safe Travels!

Just ordered the drying rack for our rig! Look into a hitch mounted rock guard for the Alaska trip. It mounts in the ball receiver between the truck and the rv to protect it. It's like a giant mud flap but goes all the way across. Alaska is know for the rock damage on its highways.

Great ideas! One consideration about hanging caps on the wall... as you travel down the road those hats are swinging on the wall, which wears the material on those contact points. I hung my caps the same way in my 18 wheeler and now all of them are threadbare at two points on the bill where they were resting against the wall. That was only after about a year.

Had a fifth wheel once. Didn't like loosing the bed space in my truck for a hitch that was so heavy to remove I didn't unless I had to. Second after falling down the steps from the bedroom to the bath a few times I sold it and went back to a regular trailer with a flat floor. Great looking trailer, looks better quality than the last.

Looks Awesome! I love that your counter has the undermounted sink. Makes for a much larger usable space. I bet it feels so good to have so much more room for everybody and everything. My husband would love that very large pass through underneath! We have opposing slides and an island as well in a 30' Heartland Wilderness. Everyone is so surprised at the amount of space when they come inside. I have a con as well about the opposing slides since our bathroom is in the rear. Every time we stop and need to use the bathroom, I have to push out one of the slides at least 6 inches so I can squeeze through to the back. We are fulltimers as well and are feeling ready for an upgrade to a fifth wheel too. We'll see.

As always great video.... I learn a lot from your video's. It is a lot different than the Campers I use to tow around on the job I just retired from....Biggest camper I ever had at work was a 48 foot with 5 pop's... It weighed 49.000 lbs dry... It was quite a chore keeping up with it... I towed it with a Freightliner twin screw tractor with a walk in sleeper. It was quite the rig.....I just bought a 30 footer to travel with...Off and running soon... Well you take care and be safe.... I will be behind you someday... Just have to get started.....Thanks...

One thing I figured out in our rig that you may love is a second tension rod in your shower. You have the height as well. I put another tension rod along the back of the shower about 4-6 inches from the wall. Then I took the shower curtain hooks and left like 4-5 on it so that we have a place to hang our suits and towels. That way everything drips directly into the tub and not down the wall! Everything seems to dry a lot faster that way as well!
