A really effed up thing; apparently Timothy had regurgitated food in his mouth and possibly smelled of decomp while Paul attempted CPR on him; you can literally hear him gag on the audio tape. That's how long he was dead for before they finally discovered him; long enough for his body to start breaking down internally. Utterly vile shitheads. I'm a firm believer in corporal punishment for offenders like this. People make mistakes or do stupid things, sometimes sober sometimes not, each case is of course different which is why we have hearings. This woman did nothing impromptu. She was not in poor mental health, nor intoxicated (despite some remarks).Everything she did or instructed was planned, intentional, and meant to inflict harm both physically and mentally to Timothy. When they brought Paul in and he agreed to testify even after being told he would NOT receive any leniency, I got the impression that he was truly remorseful. As his questioning went on his behaviours were very telling. Before he was even asked if he had any disabilities I could tell something was off. He constantly flicked his eyes to his mother, sometimes in a defiant manner, primarily fearfully. He knew what he did was wrong and he wasn't hiding it. Total honesty. While I'm repulsed that he did the things he did and allowed those things to happen and continue in the first place, I respect him for being truthful. When he was asked about disabilities it really tied things together. You just know that he suffered abuse from his mother as well and pleasing her was a way to keep it at bay even though, age wise, he's an adult. I'd be interested in them testing him, surely his mental age is still rather low. I haven't seen anything about his trial yet if it's public (want to finish hers) but I really hope that he gets real help. He deserves punishment but he shouldn't be treated like a run-of-the-mill abuser. The young man needs serious therapy and counseling, direction and rehabilitation with frequent required check ups. He will forever live with what he did and it obviously already pains him. His mother is only concerned with herself.

I don't think Timothy's intellectual disabilities (couldn't talk, clumsy, etc) were as bad as she makes out: his methods for sneaking food were somewhat creative, and show capacity he shouldn't have. Sure, he may have been difficult, but I have my doubts on how bad he really was.

My nephew has mid -functioning autism. Some things he does are mindboggling . Knows every detail of dinosaurs and Mediaeval times and The Flintstones and memorizes maps. But could not be allowed alone to eat food as he would eat a raw chicken. My brother has to have locks on the fridge and freezer or he actually WILL “ sneak” food to his bedroom. Would literally eat ANYTHING like taco seasoning packets and heat up a container of BBQ sauce in microwave if allowed. Of course he is FED MEALS . If someone isn’t watching the fridge or cupboards for a second he will go in at 3am and gorge on things he will take up to his room. Once he ate a charred and burned casserole that looked like a briquet. I know just how difficult it has been for my brother to live with and take care of this type of autism. This teenager seems more advanced in highschool although it sounds like he was failing. My nephew can do math problems but could not ever take “ regular “ subjects. There is a condition called Prader Willi (sp?) where people will eat until they explode and exhibit mental and emotional processing similar to this spectrum. I have a bit of understanding for what this woman meant when she said “ sneaking” the food. But they have nothing really healthy in that freezer by the looks of it. Tater tots and ice cream sandwiches, etc. How about a peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole wheat? An apple ? This woman is obviously very high functioning Asperger’s. Lots of “ tells” to me with her eye movements and logic. The older son definitely has a sensory processing disorder too. We went through an entire year of my nephew wearing a blanket over his head. He suddenly hated wind. Then hats. He can “ feel” his hair growing. Will shave his head and eyebrows. I’m not excusing her behaviour by any means. Just observing that the entire bunch definitely have autism. They are able to lie and be creative. Paul “ parrots” his mother’s words. My nephew will parrot entire beginnings to tv shows or the news. Repeats whatever you say to him back to you verbatim. How old are you? How old are you? This family hasn’t had resources. If she actually had him taking courses at home and was marking them “ fairly” was she trying to kill him? The destruction he would exhibit is identical to my nephew: take apart furniture, etc. Break his bed. Go up on roof and be on edge with a cape. We spent $40 K a year with specialists to work on a lot of this stuff. I feel like this entire family went under radar.

I was the cook and cleaner for eight siblings and my parents. My siblings were very mean to me. One sibling in particular was physically abusive. I have scars to prove it. That type of malnourishment doesn’t happen just bc of a med change/withdrawal. Her matter of fact tone as she says the cruelest stuff is sickening. I don’t remember if it’s in this clip or another I saw but she was asked about the date of something and she says she knows it was after Mother’s Day bc her mother in law gives her tomato and some other plants and they wear on her porch. She remembers seeing them on the date they’re questioning her about. But then she goes on this little monologue about how she doesn’t have a green thumb but she kept those plants alive. Like all proud of herself and I’m so glad the state caught it bc he makes a comment like “oh, so you made sure your plants never missed a meal” defense objected but that snarky comment made me happy. This lady is just heartless. And her fake panic attack earlier angered me, then she “threw up” when pictures of her son are put in front of her. Like what?? The sight of him makes you sick but you are the one who did that to him! Evil evil woman. And she ruined her other sons life by making him participate in this cruel behavior. At least he has come to his senses and knows he was wrong and is testifying against her, not for anything in exchange either, just to do the right thing.

He was only 69 pounds at 15 years old and 5'4" tall when he died, and was 104 pounds a little earlier at Mother's Day. 😲 And kept for hours in a bath tub of ice water, and starved. His autopsy showed that he had no fat inside his body, his weight was in zero percentile. And he was also very dehydrated. Very sickening and disturbing! 😟

Yes she did. And also she tortured him while she was in the home. Her text sounds like she literally hated her own child. She couldn't work from texting torture acts to her son. She didn't want him to eat or drink water. But she would stop and buy food for her younger child on her way home from work. She hated him. She made sure he got no food.

She believes her academic intelligence, and her job as a clerk, will impress the jury or better yet convince them that she is actually the victim having to deal with an out of control child, a husband who suffered a stroke, etc. However, she comes across as cold, strange, and almost robotic. The way she responds and shows no emotion when talking about her deceased child is so bothersome and cold. Her punishments and means of discipline are horrific. I found her to be psychotic. Her other son looks like he also suffers from malnutrition and is out of it. I believe he was and still is afraid of her and he did what she told him to do out of fear. Very sad, sad situation. That poor child died so alone at the hands of the person who brought him into this world who was supposed to protect him, not torture and harm him. May he be at peace. Tragically, I hate to say it, but he's actually in a better place, and that alone is just heartbreaking.
