Dave, I've been watching your videos since about 2008 I believe. Before discovery was even being talked about. I've learned so much about the outdoors from you and I have also tried to profit from your personality. You are a very calm, intelligent, and patient man. I'll keep watching as long as you keep making videos brother. Thanks

Dave - thanks for taking us along with you. I am kind of stuck, where I am now, so getting out with you and your camera, allows me to enjoy the outdoors. That was great to see that nesting Canada! I really appreciate that. Cheers!

lol what a great life, Dave! :-) Enjoy it a little for me too brother! Sure does look amazingly fun to be out on the water like that. You don't really appreciate such things until you can no longer do them. Since being stuck basically immobile about a year & a half ago I know I never really did. Now, that I can't do it anymore I long for it everyday. I know I miss my woods time. Nothing like being alone in the woods & one with nature. Nothing like it at all! Keep'em comin' man!

I'm disabled and can't even walk to the end of the driveway without difficulty. However, I can sit in a canoe and paddle all day. I've found a canoe is a great way to get out into the wilderness. Two people can carry a lot of gear in a canoe if packed right. With all the rivers in my area, we can paddle for miles without seeing people, pullover, make a camp, and spend several days communing with nature and relaxing.

Nice boat been paddling solo roylex boat for many years . You got it right with a double bladed paddle. 2 accessories i would recommend is a snap in carrying yoke and a small drift sock for fishing windy days... Glad to see you got a Mohawk Royalex will take a beating..

Have you considered floating a river during duck season? Its worked out really well out of my kayak. Jump shooting on rivers is great, especially in the winter.

I'm looking on craigslist at a Mohawk canoe(out of Lancaster County,PA).It's a 17' er for $500.When they say it's made of fiberglass, does it mean a composite? In your other video I think you said your Mohawk was 38 lbs,am I correct. That'd meet my needs as I'd like to take it up to the Adirondacks, and the Pocono Mountains, and the Suesquehannah river canoe camping. The Suesquehannah has alot of islands which is part of the Weiser state forest, and camping on them is permitted.Ever since me and my buddies did some canoe camping on the eastern side of Jackson Lake below the Grand Tetons,I fell in love with canoe camping. There are designated campsites on some of the 15 islands within the lake.We caught enormous trout from the boat as well as the shore off the island we camped.I used a spinner which was a brass type.Caught a big trout with it as we were paddling across the lake to the park's store. Also saw moose along the shore one early morning as we paddled the smooth early morning waters.

Dave, your video inspired me to take my spear and my kayak out for a trip today. But seeing as i live in a desert ,i had to go to the reservoir and when i got there i turned around and got caught in one of the worst dust storms in our towns history haha.

there nothing like being out on the water and experiencing all nature it has to offer. Thought tht Canadian goose was gonna go after you. If it was a little later in the season you might have to use your paddle. love that canoe, bet its very expensive

Hi Dave, I was wondering if you carry any type of emergency/survival kit in your jeep? Also do you put a center strap around the canoe or is the two tie downs in the front and back good enough? Thanks for the videos and Take Care.

Is there a removable yoke for portageing? That's a tough way to carry for any real distance.. also, I wanted to ask your opinion of the durability. An ultralight 16 foot kevlar 2 person canoe weighs the same, but they are almost brittle when it comes to landing or accidentally hitting a rock/log/dam..

Hey Dave, how stable do you find this canoe? I know its a little smaller than your aluminum one but I am interested in purchasing a solo for duck hunting on small rivers and creeks.

Beautiful! But wouldn't be better to have a canoe that was 'Sky Colored'. Everything beneath you is looking up at the sky, and seeing a dark boat bottom would seem to be alarming, not stealthy. Just a thought.

As far as water in the canoe, that happens with most people by always putting the wet blades back in the boat, look at old pictures of native americans and trappers while at rest in the canoe, The paddle blades are outside the canoe, generally with the handle across their lap, I know you got alot going on with filming, fishing and paddling, so this might not be an option.
